This game is only fun with friends. The challenges/missions are boring and repetitive at best. They took everything great about Skate 3 and threw it in the garbage. No megaramps, no darkslides, a huge loss of tricks in general. The art style looks more like the metaverse than anything good, and my character looks straight out of The Sims. On top of all of the issues with microtransactions, lack of features, and repetitiveness, there are also countless glitches making the game unplayable at times. Randomly bailing off your board for no reason, the game crashing constantly, visual glitches very often, falling through the map, etc. This game is not worth playing in its current state, and hundreds of hours of development need to be allocated to this game to make it anywhere near worth installing.

For the last 3 years or so, I had almost completely lost all of my love for gaming, and every game was just starting to feel like either a boring grind, or like there was nothing to do. I was spending only maybe 3 hours a week at the most playing video games. I thought I had just gotten burnt out on gaming as a whole, but really every game that I had been playing I just run out of content or had you doing the same thing over and over again. About 3 months ago now I decided to give Red Dead Redemption 2 a try, as I was seeing it all over my YouTube homepage, as well as hearing good things about it from a coworker. As soon as I finished up in Colter, and made my way to horseshoe overlook, the game had me hooked. I don't think I can truly say I've ever played a game like this before. I put in 130 hours in about 3 weeks, and every moment I wasn't at work was spent playing this game. A few months later here I am, I've completed the main game and the Epilogue, and played a bit of online, and now haven't been playing it as much recently, but it got me back into gaming. Because of RDR2 i started playing other games with stories again and i genuinely enjoy myself while doing so. The story of Red Dead Redemption 2 is the only game story that has ever brought an actual tear to my eye. The story and atmosphere in this game is really just like no other, and the sheer amount of things that you can do is insane. Thank you Rockstar San Diego, Roger Clark, Benjamin Byron Davis, Rob Wiethoff, and all the other amazing mocap actors as well as the games developers who came together to make such a life changing game. This is the only serious review i will ever write and it's only because of how impactful this game really was.
