Great game, sadly it's not too active anymore (i first played back in 2018 when it was boomin), it isn't dead at all though, searching for games takes around 20 - 50 secs. It's pretty fast paced and 'cod-like', but free.
Still gets updates and events somewhat regularly as well, which is nice. Some players claim that there are a lot of cheaters, but I have only seen like two, they were flying but didn't have/use aimbot so honestly, nothing was ruined. Overall I'd recommend it, it's tons of fun, just wish there were more players :(

Please, don't play this game. It's incredibly boring, not fun at all, even if you find something somewhat worth your time it'll disappoint. It's buggy and glitchy in every possible aspect (all screens stay in one place, for example if I open my detector tab and then switch to my shovel while that's opened, said tab will stay open on the screen not functional, this doesn't just happen 'in-game' it happens in the menu, I can open the leaderboard then switch to the shop and the leaderboard doesn't go away, you have to go back to it and manually click out of it), you can get your character stuck in-game somehow too, I think I used an emote or something that made me dance while crouching (not sure why the game let's you do stuff like that in the first place) and then I couldn't move, so I exit and come back, and I spawn in the sky? Anyways even if you love metal detecting or games similar to this, don't waste your time, especially not for like $8.

Honestly, it wasn't all that bad until the Moorfrog level, I'm either horrible @ video games, or this is actually really difficult, sure the controls are horrible on that stage (and generally the movement system feels off in the game), but still this shouldn't make it that hard, right? Well maybe for others but I've wasted like 50 lives on that single stage and still not managing to pass, it seemed fun on pics, and the first 2 stages I passed with ease, I wanted to play this back when it came out in 2010 but never managed to, finally bought it but was kind of disappointed. Also the highest resolution is really low, 2 big black bars on the sides (I'm on a laptop). Sometimes several textures go completely back, I'm not sure why that is, but didn't bother me that much. Overall it's not that bad of a game but it does p*ss me off, there are better games out there like this maybe even for free, I wouldn't really waste my time on this, if you are or were a fan of Moorhuhn games like me, I'd say give it a try and judge for yourself. It really isn't that bad but you might delete this game after an hour with a sour taste left in your mouth.
