I've been following DayZ since just a few months into the Alpha, and the best way I can describe how I feel about DayZ Standalone is "Stockholm Syndrome." After years of abuse from awful game-breaking bugs, I still want to like this game so badly that I boot it up and play after every major patch, only to be sorely disappointed - until this most recent patch. I have more hours in this game than any other by far, and have a deep love for the game despite its many flaws, and after over 5 years of sticking with this game the light is finally starting to shine at the end of this long tunnel of development hell. I'm betting that version 1.3 of this game will actually be worth a complete playthrough, but I sincerely doubt that anyone will really want to after all of this. It's very hard to make any recommendation about this game, but I can't say that people should not try it at all, so by default I guess that means I recommend it.

Man, this game is a lot of fun, especially when playing with a group of friends. Stealth FTW!
