So the gameplay is good enough, what you want from a MechWarrior game, but doesn't go above it.

Story wise, it is pretty crappy. They make an out of charater reason to get rid of the boss guy and replace him with a woman who doesn't come across as competent, it's insert female look how good she is.

The voice acting is pretty dull, the cut scenes are off, it doesn't feel like its a real experience. There is no gravity to the events, when something goes "wrong" it turns out good for the PC. It isn't something that really affects you in game.

TLDR: It's just another DEI game in the end.

Its just a movie with a few clicks in it, quick time events always succeed. It is boring.

It is a non-skippable cutsceen generator. The story is bland and wooden I got to the 9 minute mark and said "Welp! This is refund material". It probably wouldn't have been anywhere near as bland if I could just read the subtitles and skip the conversation, but the words took far too long to come out of their mouths. It was kinda like an adult trying to explain something to a child with a learning disability, when in reality the adult has the IQ of a LED lampshade in the vacuum of space, and the child is a astrophysicist.

But I guess if you are the sort to enjoy being patronised and treated as slow, this is a game for you.

Then we get into the actual game-play, the camera tracking makes the game feel like its from the early 2000's as in this game could legally drink in the USA. It feels like you are always walking sideways and makes you feel like you are running a along a gantry on its return trip to pick up another crate. Like you are a human-crab hybrid.

The subject highlighter is the game-play's best feature, when you get near something of note it does highlight it. And if that's my positive take on this game-play that says something.

Also it has poor mouse control.

It's all timed events and single click motions to make the story move on. Its very linear and very boring. It's akin to watching a movie and then you get a "press w to move the thing" to make it continue. There are far better star trek games than this.

Its a hard game but its rewarding. You have to think ahead with each jump, research leads to different gameplay. You need to mine what you can and distribute it amongst your zones so that you can continue on. People management is of key importance in this game.

Its a fun old game. It really deserves a remake with some mods.

The companion voice is a bit repetitive and annoying and there is one mission that everybody hates its best to just download a mod that skips it. but other than that its a good old space sim.

A very story rich, intense game. Really good balance between the story and the actual game play. It's almost frustrating at times with how much there is to manage in terms of resources, and it seems almost impossible, but it's a brilliant pretty balanced game. Doubt even The Spiffing Brit could break this game.

It's a fun little game, design and build ships, lay waist to the NME. Mods also make for a fun change.

It's a very good strategy game. It does still need a bit of work in terms of resource balance and the typically bug fixes. But other than that, you can play through the whole thing with no major dramas. It's well made and the story is engaging enough to make each campaign feel different from the last.

Its slow to start but when you get going its loads of fun.

Build a station, then build a fleet, take on some toasters... good times good times...
