This is my first review here. I have to start with the statement that The Longest Journey is my all time favorite game. The sequel, Dreamfall was pretty good but rather strange.

As Dreamfall Chapters appeared on Kickstarter I was among the first backers. I wanted to get a conclusion on the story, I wanted to relieve the magic of the original game.

After 3 years I just finished the game a few moments ago. 3 years. First we had to wait because they decided to make it episodic, then I had to wait to upgrade my PC because the game is poorly optimized. I mean it is really bad, just to understand it runs at like 40 fps on a machine that runs Crysis 3 on 70-80 fps.

But now I have finished it and I just feel like instead of gaining new experiences I have just lost something. The story is confuse, filled with boring characters, shady dialogues. The game is empty, two medium-large maps with just a few interactive NPC-s, lots of long and boring conversations.

What happened to The Longest Journey. Where is my adorable April or at least the half-interesting Zoe from the second game? Why all the politics and shady Dreamtime, Storytime plot? Why can't we just have some funny, lovable characters with a simple story? Where are the Dragons, exotic Arcadia places from the original game?

I may sound a bit strange, I just simply can't explain how disappointed I am. I can't believe that this game was made by the same people who made the original. That game had heart, had a warm atmosphere and a lovely story. Dreamfall Chapters is full with forced conspiracies, politics and other embarrassing plot twists.

I can't understand the very positive rating. I know, nobody forced me to play it, but it still made me really sad.

The last scene also made me cry, because of the nostalgia in it, and because of the missed opportunities, and the fact that this is really the end it got.

Please, If you loved The Longest Journey and found Dreamfall's story too much of a change, please don't play this. I wish I could forget it.
