I loved the game mechanics. that blend between RPG and TD is pretty elegant. the missions has a lot of challenges that will keep you hook you to replay them over and over again.
great thanks for the developers. they are very responsive and have been listening to the players' feedback and fixing the game to get the best possible experience.
On of the best TD games out there that is a must-play for all TD lovers

I don't like Action RPG games but when this was on a free weekend, I thought to give it a try.
after just 30 minutes I got to remember again why I hate those games. everything about RPG is just unappealing to me.
Why does it the character always seems like it's dragging sandbags when it moves?!
Why does the fighting takes ages even for one trivial low level monster?
What's with the character NEVER talks?! people are just talking to him and he has no voice. no reaction. nothing!
And don't start about those repetitive tasks that you have to do zillion times over for XP and leveling up!

RPG and shooters have become the dominating genre now unfortunately, but for me there the worst kinda games to play.

I'm not a fan of fighting games but I like the MK series. I thought to try this out in the free weekend and it was a total disappointment.

1- The game takes the "anime" route in order to be family friendly. Fighting games are basically "fighting". they need to be gruesome and brutal.
2- I tried to play the story mode but I had several difficulties and I failed in the end. it's truly an indicator of a company that doesn't respect its players base when they release the campaign mode as a DLC!
i don't know about the history of this but that's annoying as hell to buy a game then you release there's no single player campaign in it!
3- There's no tutorial whatsoever rather than telling you those buttons are used for kick and punch! that's the worst tutorial I've ever played not only in Fighting games but in all video games in general.
I was getting into fights trying to figure out what does what. it's a totally trial and error method of learning which totally sucks big time.
the moment i had to go watch a YouTube video to only know how the basic game is player is the moment I know that game is no longer fun at all.
4- The game feels like one of those "Free-To-Play" cheap games where everything needs a micro-transaction and main menu screen with loads of ads. that's the worst interface I've ever seen in any "AAA" game in my life.

don't care what others says about the "awesome gameplay" for me that was a nightmare experience to download all those 40 GB (and my bandwidth is not that high to allow for such a waste) and to find out this is just garbage.

I played this on the free weekend as I didn’t believe the game worth paying. I wasn’t wrong.
The game tries to create a new concept by commanding a hovercraft (called gravcycle) with various guns while also commanding several other walking soldiers with various abilities.
Now, for a shooter game I didn’t believe this whole concept is needed:
1- Why am I not allowed to choose my weapon and team before getting into a mission? That is a SHOOTER game. What kind of a shooter game that doesn’t allow the player to choose his weapon?!!
2- What the use of the other team units? Their abilities? That could just have been added to my arsenal and I could change the weapon on the fly to whatever suits the situation. Remember I’m using a hovercraft? That must mean I can equip it with various weapons.
3- Why am I not allowed to command my units to attack the bid monsters/bosses weakness points?! They are my team. They should be supporting me but instead I must fight all the bosses/big monsters on my own as in the end there are ineffective when it comes to hitting the monsters point of weakness. That beats the purpose of the whole team concept.
4- What about the story? I have gone through the game twice trying to achieve all the goals and even after playing the whole campaign twice I didn’t even remember what it’s all about! The story seems totally irrelevant and I wasn’t even interested enough to know who is talking about what!
5- Some of the story events are pretty silly. Like for example how an actual cripple manages to escape or why do any android actually care about life?! They are basically immortals for god’s sake!
6- Game is unbalanced when it comes to difficulty. One the easy one I managed to finish the level in an average of 10-15 minutes as it seems enemies are dying from one or two shots.
on the hard level though I expect a challenge but not to the fact I would literally hit a drone more than 3 minutes with my whole team to shot it down while one or two shot from it and I’m dead! Totally unbalanced specially without the ability to customize your weapon according to the situation.
Basically the developers tried to do something new and they failed miserably

I'm not a fan of FPS in general but i played this on the free period before the "Alyx" game released.

on the contrary of the first game, the graphics here aged very well. the game looks beautiful even by today's standards.

as the first game, The story doesn't seem that "deep" and "interesting" as others would say. again, it seems as if all what happened in the first game was meaningless since now we have the aliens occupying earth. so what was the use of what Dr. Freeman did in the first game??! nothing at all.

The game continues again making that "normal scientist" a war veteran/street fighter/freedom fighter combo as if the developers never have seen a scientist in their whole life!

People would refer to that G-Man appearing at the end of the game and taking all kind of BS theories about him to give the story some "depth" but in the end it's pretentious and plain exaggeration to say the least.

one thing i particularly liked about the game is the loading system which doesn't require a loading screen on its own but the game will automatically load the next area the moment you step into it. that means you won't have to wait for a loading screen and also it'll give a feeling or continuity rather than interruption.

in general it's a classic game for shooters lovers but not me.

In general, it's a solid shooter at least for its own age.
the graphics are outdated but thanks to valve they kept updating the game to work on new system which is a good thing from the developers.

The story doesn't seem that "deep" and "interesting" as others would say. it's a classic game of a scientific experiment gone wrong causing aliens to appear and you will be of course the hero who will kill all of them.

People would refer to that mysterious figure appearing at the end of the game and taking all kind of BS theories about him to give the story some "depth" but in the end it's pretentious and plain exaggeration to say the least.

absolute garbage.

Honestly, how can you get from a masterpiece like desperados 1 to this garbage like this? the developer exerted a lot of effort to achieve such an astonishing fate!

I didn't even play it for a whole hour as I couldn't bear with the stupid interface and the "updated" graphics. i'm not sure who came up with the idea to change the gameplay to this stupid system but the number of users on steam can tell exactly how that change fared.

if you are a fan of the first game, stay away from this garbage. at least it won't tarnish the legacy of the first game

One of my favorite games as a youth.

Puzzles are the right kind of difficulty. challenging but not frustrating. the game is clear enough in most levels about what needs to be done and the rest is trying to do it.
Graphics are nice. nothing fancy but it's childish in a funny way.
those little signs also add some humor to the game to break the ambient atmosphere of the game.

Only downside is the inability to control the game sound volume which is a very strange thing to opt to do from the developers.

in brief it's a very nice puzzle game that anyone would enjoy.

This is a very nice puzzler game. Graphics are very artistic and colors are a beauty.

The puzzles themselves are varying in difficulty. I solved some of them without hints, others with hints. In general I had to solve some levels using "trial and error" rather than anything else.

I think the idea of having one fixed solution is what i don't like about this. the game should have allowed the freedom of several solution and maybe reward the player who comes up with the least number of mirrors used. the fact that it's only solution makes it pretty annoying when the map is big enough and you are unsure from where to start.

Also, in some levels the light should be bouncing back to some deflector mirrors which makes it a little bit strange for me to use them in such a way. most of the time i happened to solve this by chance.

in general, it's a decent game for puzzle lovers
