Server problems are what they are, but that alone should tell you why this game is a great game. People want to play it because it's a beautiful culmination of Starship Troopers minus the brain sucking but with better and more explosions.

Seriously, I don't think I've felt this overjoyed to accidentally carpet bomb my teammates (may their souls rest in pieces.) Everything from the pure carnage of nuking everything blends together so well to bring back the excitement that playing Coop games were in a surprisingly beautiful package.

My biggest gripe about the server issues is that this should have been P2P. I'm not sure it was tested out that way, but it's a coop game, not a 64+ person Battlefield server. We aren't relying on someone's 10mbps connection that's barely squeaking by, P2P would have worked out fine for this. Also, I hope that in the future, the devs will give us the choice to customize the armor a bit at least color wise. As much as I love black and yellow, I'd like to change it up a bit and even customize my own cape.

Other than that, seems like while I'm waiting for these AAA titles to come out where they flop and I'm filled with nothing but disappointment, games like this come out and give me something with so much replay value and laughs. Easily my game of the year choice so far, pick it up, spend the 40 bucks (or 60 if you decide to upgrade to super citizen) and uninstall all your AAA titles that are clearly inferior.

This game pays me overtime, which automatically makes it better working conditions than my IRL job, which does not pay me overtime. Absolutely recommend for our progression as a modern society.

not sure why this game has positive reviews, it's bad lol. every hit up a ramp that's the slightest too hard sends your ball careening off the map. there was one hole where i had to hit my ball up a hill to get to the hole, and no matter what speed i hit it it would either roll back down the hill due to not enough power or fly off the hill from too much. golf with friends is better

even for early access, this game wasn't even ready for that. im going to uninstall it for now, but let me list the pros and cons right off the bat:
pros:
- graphically, it's pretty.
- the detailed log chopping animation is crazy good
- the building seems like it can get pretty deep in terms of customization once the game gets polished (i get valheim vibes with the way you can arrange logs to make a log cabin)
- framerates, smoothness, lighting, etc. are smoother than that AAA pile of crap Harry Potter and this was made by a much smaller studio with less money.
- uhh...i didn't pay 60 dolilars to play it, i paid half?

cons:
- building is bugged to hell
- interface is intentionally designed to be as unintuitive as possible
- following the instructions for building stuff flat out doesn't work. especially putting in the doorway for a base. i chopped up 2 long logs vertically thinking you had to do that to place a door..got no option to place them in the doorway. so finally i picked up a full log and you get the option to place it after waiving your camera around and..your character chops the wood vertically and installs it in the doorway in one animation. in what crazy world does that make any sense.
- if you've played rust or any other survival game and thought..man i really hate how long nights are, guess what? this takes the longest nights in all of those games and triples the time you spend not seeing anything. it's even worse for you as a player in the beginning when all you have as a light source is a crappy lighter.
- enemies are damage sponges, even on normal. it shouldn't take me 20+ spear stabs to kill a shark, and 5-10 or more to kill the cannibals. definitely need some tweaking there.

i didn't get far enough to list anymore pros/cons, so i'll eventually change this in six months when i reinstall it and play it again. right now it just isn't ready/worth playing so i can't recommend it.

I read a few articles on this game being people's addictions last year, so I decided to splurge the outrageous price of 3.99 on Steam to see what all of the fuss is about. In all honesty, the gameplay looks like those crappy Android/iOS game advertisements where the gameplay is just NPCs filling up your screen endlessly coming from all directions. The only difference, is the gameplay in this game matches what is advertised, and there aren't any pay walls.

I don't even know why I like this game, it's not even good, it's not innovative in any way, and while it looks retro, it doesn't really feel retro. I'm going to chalk it up to the Devs putting some kind of witchcraft sorcery somewhere in this game that makes it feel like electronic cocaine. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a bone to pick with those Wuhan bats for the last 2 years with my unicorn farting canine.

This should have been the sequel to Doom 2016, not Doom Eternal. If you enjoyed the mindless slaughter of that game and the combination of heavy metal riffs to boot, you will enjoy this rhythmic shooter blaring metal from the depths of hell into your ears. Tap your mouse to the rhythm of mankind's best genre of music and pile up combos while you wreak more havoc than an archangel. Clearly this game will get you in the Christmas spirit; slay demons for baby Jesus' birthday.

It's as toxic and COD as COD can get. Dolphin swimmers everywhere, people running around with ridiculous speed turtling it with shields while somehow always managing to be the most toxic people in the lobbies, full of people who speak different languages from various cultures somehow forgetting to turn off their mic while holding casual conversations with their family, people with mics that sound like they set up next to a jet engine, the list goes on.

The game isn't perfect, as all first person shooters aren't when they come out. There's always a lack of balance somewhere, something is always too OP, a menu option doesn't work, or the menu looks like it was designed by someone with dyslexia. I will say this though, this is the first COD in a long time where I have been able to easily play with someone else in the same household. Cold War was completely broken in that regard, as were Black Ops. They at least got that going for them.

But aside from normal game talk, this game has something in it that makes me feel like I just chugged a bottle of Tennessee fire (aka warm and fuzzy inside.) When you wreck someone, there is this 2 second period where you can hear them screaming in anguish at you through their mic. The more you keep piling up kills on them, the better those 2 seconds get every time. There are also game modes where you switch sides. The result? The 10 second pause in between rounds is some of the most toxic and hilarious sound bites ever.

In a way, this satiates nostalgia for me. Back in the day, first person shooters with dedicated servers had the option to enable 'alltalk' which, yes, was horrifyingly toxic, but also resulted in some of the most hilarious and memorable nights of gaming of my life. This doesn't have it enabled all of the time, but it's close enough.

This game isn't perfect at all but I enjoy it and recommend it to everyone else.

Defect is OP, game is great and challenging. Perfect time waster in meetings. I've bought this game for PC, iPad, and my iPhone and have been playing non stop for well over a year now (just bought it on PC finally in Steam sale.)

In terms of value, there's nothing better on Steam that will give you more replay value for the money than this game. Seeing as it is a turn based card game, there isn't much that's frustrating period, other than the randomization of card drops not being what you need.

Finally, Defect is OP. Seriously. If you want to go deep in ascension, choose Defect.

Defect.

This is one of the best indie games released in years. It's crazy with such a massive environment that the game itself has such a tiny footprint.

Some of the meshing of detailed environments mixed with pixelated textures is kind of odd and I'd have honestly preferred worse graphics for better performance and consistency, but other than that, the game was a blast to play.

Things I'd wish for: Them to finish the unfinished environments, more customization when it comes to building as some of the attention to detail you can put into your village is insane but lacking polish, more weapons, more gear.

All of these are just greedy wants at this point, but for how much I spent on this game compared to how many hours I put into playing it, there is no comparison. Eagerly awaiting continued support for this GOTY gem. 100% recommend.

This game is an absolute mess right now and I urge longtime Counter Strike players to boycott it until they either work out the kinks from their current anti cheat or implement a kernel level anticheat like Valorant.

I started playing Counter Strike Source way back in the day and met a lot of longtime friends that I still enjoy playing with to this day. Now I am seeing these friends get overwatch banned for false positives for things like:
- high ping
- high dpi
- GPU drivers (which is absolutely embarrassing)

The friends who got banned for GPU drivers got their game bans overturned, but the ones that got banned for high ping still have not. I know them personally, they're not cheaters and their stats in the game reflect this. I wholeheartedly do not recommend this game to anyone right now, and it's sickening that it even considers itself a legitimate product in the FPS space when its anti-cheat is inferior to just about every other AAA FPS out there.

If you are a regular player, do not open cases, do not buy keys, do not support this game in any way until they start taking their longtime fans seriously.
