Starbound is a pretty amazing sandbox game that gives you a lot of creative freedom when wanting to build colonies or just see what you can do! Too bad it's plagued by a forced story that locks some ingame progress behind its missions. No one asked for that and yet the devs forced it through Early Access.

You're better off playing this game with mods, especially Frackin Universe as it makes the gameplay loop much more interesting and expands the crafting system quite a lot. Especially fun if you're playing with friends that have no idea what to do!

No joke, this is one of the few games that genuinely made me cry. Not sob or sniff, but cry.
Give it a shot. Graphics can be offputting, but don't let them fool you, this game is amazing.
