Early Access Review
Alright so to be honest, I've only had this game for a couple days. But from what I've seen so far, I love it. Of course, it's one of your typical "mine some stuff, make some stuff, rinse and repeat" sandbox games, but now it's ~in space~. Meaning, you can visit different planets, all with different landscapes, types of weather, length of day, strength of gravity. It seems like a lot of thought was put into this game, and I respect that a lot. As for your characters, NPCs, and all that jazz, there's multiple species to choose from, from good ol' basic humans to plant people and... people whose genders are depicted by power outlets??? Yep, that's a thing in this game. I by no means have gotten far into the plot yet, or whatever semblence of a storyline there may be to this game, but from what I can gather, you can take on quests for different people in the sort of home town hub planet of the game. Quests aren't something that I've seen used in sanbox games that often, but I think it fits well and gives you more motivation to go explore the different worlds you can find and complete tasks for people. Also, on an unrelated note, the music in this game is fantastic. It's all pretty calming, sometimes dramatic in an uplifting sort of way, and it reminds me a lot of the music you'll hear in minecraft, just playing all the time.

But now onto the cons of the game. Obviously, there's gonna be some bugs here and there, being a game that's still in beta and all, so you'll have to be prepared for that. I heard from a friend that there might even be instances where your character or world is erased because there's been a change in how the game stores these kinds of things, and that it drove her to stop playing until everything is finalized and there's no chance of that happening again. Another thing-- though I think this is the case in most games-- it'll take some time to get used to things starting out. I was a flailing mess when I first started, having to constantly ask my friends how to do this or that, or yelling for help whenever I ran into one or two small enemies. Of course, that could just be chalked up to me being me, and me being terrible at games, but one day later and I'm already starting to get the hang of things and gaining confidence to go out exploring planets on my own. Just give it some time, and you'll get the hang of it.

So, overall. Would I recommend this game? Heck yeah. I was blown away by some aspects of it, and despite it being a beta game with a few glitches here and there, I think the experience is certainly worth what you'd pay for it.
