(updating the review as I've finished the game since)

Still the worst port I have EVER seen. Comically tragic.
Despite playing it in 1080p, with everything on low and DLSS set to "performance" it ran like absolute garbage on a 12900k, DDR5 and a 3080. Crashed at least 2-3x per hour and had random frame drops causing MASSIVE stutters whenever it would spawn an enemy or whenever my character did a 90 degree turn.
So, yeah. Fun.
If you were wondering if the "hotfix" or dedicated TLOU nVidia drivers changed anything - they slightly reduced the frequency of crashes while making the game run even worse, somehow.

Skip it, if you already bought it but can get a refund - do it. Circle back in a few months, I really don't see this big of a dumpster fire being significantly improved anytime soon. Finishing the game in this state was an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone.

As unlikely as it is I consider this to be one of the best games of all time. It's short and doesn't have much of a story, but guys - it's SO FUN. I replay it every now and then and I have a blast every time. For the price I can't recommend it enough.

Rockstar launcher is absolute cancer, and as for the game itself - it's a really REALLY bad port. I wanted to play it for ages, but I wasn't going to buy a console *just* for RDR and RDR2, so I was very excited for it's arrival. After barely an hour played I was even more excited to get a refund for it.

Early Access Review
Xen is coming baby!

If, for any reason, you've missed the Half-Life series, this is your starting point. If you played though it back in the day, well, this is the best HL1 experience there's ever been. It's like the girl you've loved for decades just got younger and prettier. Stop reading the reviews, just buy it.

A true masterpiece, one of the best games of all time. It's mindboggling how much quality they managed to produce with (at the time) limited resources.

It's not a remaster, it's the same classic game you remember, but it works @ 1440p/Win10 without any bugs or problems, and the art is still just as beautiful as I remembered it to be.

While I do get the arguments in all the negative reviews - this game is incredibly fun. And incredibly addicting. More than any other I can think of that came out in the last decade or so. I had a blast when I was playing it on a laptop with 20 FPS, and I'm having a blast now after I've upgraded to a 8700k and a 1080Ti which CAN run it at 200 FPS if you're using 1080p res.

The "eSports ready" meme exists for a reason, and I honestly don't see Bluehole ever fixing it to the point where it will become competitively viable. But as a casual game? Something to play with friends and ♥♥♥♥ around? Something to play after a long day? It just may be perfect, even with all its issues.
If you're all about winning and improving and such, well, CS:GO and Quake Champions will cater to your needs. If not, give PUBG a try, it absolutely is worth it.

The ingame crates paid for the game in like a month, and in ~150 hours I even made a handy little profit from it. Pretty satisfied with my purchase overall.

EDIT: well, 2 years later and 2000 hours later - I think it's safe to say it was indeed a good purchase. :)

5 years and 4000 hours later - best game in the genre, nothing quite like it. It's the Counter-Strike of the Battle Royale genre, accept no substitutes.

An absolutely brilliant game. One of two best single player shooter games ever made (the other being HL2). 10+ years after I first played it, I'm still equally impressed by it. Don't miss it, it aged REALLY well.

EDIT: While waiting for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 I just may have to give this another go <3
