Fantoccio is the frickin demo boss! Hell yea!
This is fun! Like really fun!

There have been a few tiny bugs, and the fact that, when standing on the right side of the stage shortly before the end cut scene starts, your player model will be visible next to the render model, but nothing bad or anything.

The only bug I could reproduce quite consistently was with the "giant hand clap attack" (idk how to name it else lmao)
I usually wait for the "danger flash indicator" right before they attack. I'll shield up so the hands wrap around the shield. Fairly often, I either slip out of the shield bubble instead of breaking free, receiving damage, Or I'm simply not allowed to break the bubble, so I am stuck inside, also receiving damage, since I didn't break free.

I'm not bothered by that to much, just something I noticed somewhat frequently :D

Holy sheep...
what an artstyle. what a world. what a game.

Never felt better to love and torture npcs at the same time :D

I had so much fun grinding out my 100% save, never got bored, it's just a beautiful game.

Probably the best rogue-like I've ever played and will play for a long time

Have to recommend! 11/10 from me!

My review refers to the Veteran difficulty of this game.

My overall experience

Gameplay
Mechanically, the gameplay is great. It looks great. It feels great.

The mission objectives are somewhat repetitive, but there is a good variation in map design, making the way towards the objectives quite interesting overall. The objectives themselves are somewhat similar to each other, but vary enough to not feel boring.

Graphics
Graphically, the game looks good. Nothing insane, but that's okay. Nothing to complain about.

Enemies
Pretty inconsistent from time to time.
Sometimes you get caught despite being far away and hidden; sometimes you can just walk past them and nothing happens. Sometimes you can eliminate one right next to another and they just don't care; other times they get alerted despite the target being pretty isolated.

As for positioning and pathing, it's quite nicely done. At most points, it’s pretty challenging to get past a bunch of enemies without taking some (or all) of them out beforehand. I like that, as it makes each encounter with them somewhat tense.

If you get caught, it’s quite likely you’ll be in great trouble, as they can take down your health pretty fast.

Loadout
The weapon and loadout system does its job. It offers a good variety of different weapons, secondaries, and attachments. I barely used any of the equipable consumables (like grenades, medkits, etc.), but there is a nice arsenal to choose from too.

The save system
The game works with save states, which is great to begin with! BUT the autosaves are a bit odd sometimes.

So, overall it's quite an enjoyable experience. The story is... there...
I never really cared about it that much, to be honest, so I can't say much about it.

But I had my fun nonetheless.

Things I didn't quite like

The drone...
Why the frick is there a recon drone to use, if there's realistically no way to use it?
Like 90% of the areas are covered by anti-drone towers, which can’t be played around, as they’re indestructible. And when you finally could use your drone, it’s in mostly empty areas where you literally don’t need it.
Why even bother?

The length of the game
This could be on me, since I don’t pay a lot of attention to the story, lore, or anything like that, but it felt really short—even on high difficulty. Yes, there are challenges to complete, which could take a while to figure out, but I’d much rather have more separate missions to play than replay the same five areas over and over just for the sake of challenges.

Maybe newer players take a little longer to complete the game, which is totally fine. But for me, it was over a little too fast.

Pricing
Considering how quickly one can get through the main game, the overall price is on the edge of being overpriced. The game itself would make the price reasonable, but for the amount of gameplay content you get, it’s pretty steep... not to mention the amount of purchasable DLC weapon skins, which you barely even see in-game and which aren’t all that good-looking either...

Overall, the price of the base game is okay-ish, but a little much for what you get content-wise.

Final words

I do like this game, despite its flaws.

It’s definitely worth your time if you’re into tactical sharpshooter games.

Shame about the drone mechanic, but once you accept that you’ll never use it, it’s only half as bad.

One can overlook the price of the base game, but stay away from the DLC weapon packs—they don’t enhance your gameplay experience enough to justify their prices, in my opinion. And you definitely don’t need them to have a good time in the game!

It was over way too soon!
I'd like to spend like infinite more hours in this adorable world and try to keep the Loddles from gooping themselves :D
