I played this game originally when it came out (still have the original case and such). I bought this copy to return back to playing it.

The story of this game is fairly crazy; but in a good way. Let's be clear though, the story doesn't nearly do enough to draw you in on its own. The idea of mixing animals together and fighting in a RTS format in the vain of C&C and Starcraft makes this far worth a purchase.

Positives are going to have to be the creativity and the game play are outstanding. It will take a bit to get used to the mechanics of mixing animals to make the best army you can; but you will have fun along the way making your Hippofrogs and wale-ants. Multiplayer (when you can get a match going) can be amazingly fun. The modding community for this made some good maps to expand it back in the day; but the built in maps will definitely tide you over.

Negatives I have to say that the difficulty can be harsh if you are not used to RTS games or when you run into a long time player online. These are small nitpicks.

With my ratings, I cannot put the graphics super high due to the aging nature of them; but they are still good for as old as they are.

This game is interesting. Based off a comic series most people forgot or never heard of, it keeps to the world from the comics like it should. I played the original back in the day on Gametap (if anyone remembers that). It has a nice looking aesthetic over all, with a lot of it looking far better than the original release. The combat is a bit clunky, sticking close to the original combat system the original release used.

The good bits stay that same from the original. Entertaining combat, that at times can be repetitive if you spend to long playing. Difficulty seems well balanced with a nice ramp-up. Model work and animation is pretty well done. Has an alright pacing.

The bad bits carry over from the original; but also have new ones from this redux version. There seems to be holes in parts of geometry, as well as areas you can get stuck in. During my play through, I had to hard restart maps after getting stuck on or in geometry. I also ran into issues with enemies spawning places I could shoot or reach. Some of the textures also seem to stand out or pop. The AI can be fairly dumb; but then the next second they are instantly snapping to you, even when sneaking. A big carryover of problems from the original is the AI companion escorts getting stuck or lost.

Overall the game is good, not great. The big thing that pushes me to recommend it is the co-op play. This is definitely a great game to play with friends, especially if you know of the comic and like it. The game is fine on its own as a single-player experience though, albeit one that may be best in smaller game sessions. It does make me wish the original was still available.

The evil within is a very good game, with only some small nitpicks from me on some of the AI seeming to be cheap. The graphics are amazing, with a very in depth story, a fully fleshed out setting, creepy and off-putting environment, and a difficulty that makes you wanna just keep trying. The horror in the game isn't just cheap jumpscares; but a strong build up of atmosphere and the feeling of helplessness as the big bad is coming for you with you only having a couple of rounds of ammo left. You are left, at times, using the environment or sneaking around enemies just to survive.

With a touch of RPG, you can upgrade your weapons and stats to fair better; but with that you either have to hunt for the upgrade currency everywhere you go, or you have to be very selective on what you focus upgrades on.

The controls are fairly solid, with a few nitpicks on the issues with look sensitivity. Everything just feels like it belongs and is responsive. Only wish there was a dodge roll move; but that is more personal preference.
Combat is a bit difficult at times; but no due to bad controls. Instead, it is due to the aim and distance; this being if the enemy is too close to you the auto aim and regular aim seem to aim passed the enemies. You have the option of melee; but unless you have a melee weapon you will need it to be fully upgraded to be able to use it at all in the later levels.

The game feels like a nice blend of old resident evil and silent hill. I would highly recommend the first entry.

One of the best games I have played in a long time. Fairly hard to get through due to its difficulty; but far beyond worth it. Very souls like; but side scroller with a story that makes you want to know more about the world you are in.

You want a great indie game that harkins back to 3d adventures from the past? This game will not steer you wrong! I love the game series and hope to play the new one coming out!

Love the game, hate the game. PLAY IT! A lot of fun, bring some friends!

I would have recommended this game very highly before the Huntress was introduced. An utterly broken character that is to over powered with the ability to have ranged attacks. Further the player base, though mostly okay, seem to gravitate to watching you when hooked. With normal killers it is easy enough to get someone down with a bit of distraction; but the huntress makes that entierly moot. She camps from a distance so that people who are coming to get you don't know and get an axe to the back, or the second you get pulled down, you get downed again by the throwing axe.

If the devs balance her it may be better; but I doubt it. They won't even fix the constant bugs, or put in place anything to prevent camping. Instead they keep making dlc to add an ever growing number of bugs and cheep exploits.

If you can handle a game where matches are un-winnable at times because of the bugs or camping do what you want with the game, it was fun once. If you cannot, go buy a differnt game like Friday the 13th or something.

I now approve of the game, a lot of the concerns with bugs are fixed, and new perks make camping harder.

Snow is a fun game, though agrovating at times. It has a slow money building system, and the maps get tiring after a bit but it is indeed fun. Needs a little work on adding more mountains though.

This game is enjoyable, good enviroment, interesting story, more traditional zombies. All togethor now a bad game. My buddy played it and liked it, so I played around, and liked it enough to buy it. Defenelty worth more than the price. The controls can be a little cluncky(common E and Q turn you around) and you cant jump. The weapons are nice, and the first few levels of the story mode get you into the the world of the game. I expect great things from this game and the people who have made it! Who knows maybe the modding community will get ahold of it and make some maps for it :D
