The recent changes made me write this review, after playing this game on and off for 4+ years.
Skullgirls is actually my favourite fighting to play couch 1v1 with friends: it is simple to get into, really fun just to button mash your way through the fights, and at the same time very exciting and rewarding to go more in-depth with the combos and mechanics.
The characters are all super unique and exciting to learn, it's really hard to pick a favourite. Every friend i showed this game to instantly fell in love, and after only 10-20 minutes of getting used to controls, we've always had a blast playing it.

Now considering the latest changes. I understand that the new publishers want to appeal to a broader audience and to cleanse the game from sensitive themes, but the way it was done only hurt the people that actually care about the game the most. In my opinion, the deleted bits were in the spirit of the setting and i can't see how could they be received as offensive. Of course, the whole styling of the game is not for everyone, but the point is that the people, who can get offended by it wouldn't have bought the game in the first place, so what's the point? And it's not even the main problem, deleting stuff that was originally funded by loyal fans just feels like a betrayal.

What's worst is the reaction after the wave of negative reviews. It is a really bad look for a publisher to hide a problem in such a blatant way. As many other fans i feel offended by this attitude, but i hope that the current owners will make a right decision and listen.
Until then, i sadly can't longer recommend buying this game to the newcomers.
