Buy this game on your PS4, not Steam, if you aren't willing to risk controller compatibility issues.

At first I thought this game's difficulty was beyond my skillset, but after testing my own patience, I've come to the conclusion that yes, it is extremely difficult, but it also might be translated wrong and incompatible with many controllers.

I've beaten every souls game, but cannot get past Nioh 2's tutorial on my PC controller.

After ignoring the tutorial at first, I returned to it on a whim when certain bosses felt too difficult. Firstly, during the 'Hold Y when an opponent's Ki is depleted.' Tutorial, Every time I did so the tutorial reset, however when I held Y when the opponent was recovering their Ki, the special move activated and the tutorial completed.

Currently I'm stuck on the 'Click LB and Y during an enemy attack' tutorial; because, after hours of attempts, nothing ever happens, I've tried mixing up the button presses, assuming it was transcribed wrong, but there's no identifying animations or even a reset option to the tutorial to reread requirements. I've played the game deep in to 2 acts, and I've mastered moves in games like Soul Calibur, so I can tell it's a technical issue, not a skill factor.

I wouldn't recommend buying this game if you're using a PC controller. It seems like an incredibly fun game, the choice of weapon styles, stances, and the difficulty scaling feel intense. But the sheer fact that most controllers I use aren't fit to output advanced techniques makes the game broken and unplayable. If I were rating the game on PS4, I know I'd enjoy it, but since this is the steam version, I must provide a thumbs down. :steamthumbsdown:

Turn off the SFX lategame or else all the boss battles will just sound like pewpewpewpewpewpewpew.

It's like DND but nobody needs to reschedule and the DM doesn't hide the fact they roll higher than you.

While campaigning as Canada, our national anthem played for the entirety of the game. At least mix it up with the poutine song, please. Sorry.

The best armours don't protect your crotch, I assume that's why I'm dying so much. ♥♥♥♥ hits hurt.

There are a certain few bosses who metagame, I don't want to reveal much, but if you go in to the boss battles with certain summons hot-barred, they will react differently - differently being more aggressive, and less merciful.

Also if you ever see an obese mofo, be careful, apparently there is a bias in favor of obese mofos in this game, they can fly, defy gravity, and move at incredible speeds, someone was projecting their frustrations through this game when they designed the obese mofos.

Still, 10/10 I love this game. It's expectedly tough.
