Early Access Review
Okay, not sure where I should start, but I can make a list of the positives and "negatives" which are mainly improvements (may edit later if I'm able to after I put more hours into this):

Positives-
- Beautiful graphics complimented by gorgeous scenery and landscape on each level
- The selection of guns is wide and caters to all ranges of players
- The use of the rogue-like concept helps encourage exploring the map and allows for discovery
- Finding mini puzzles and solving them such as the glowing orb on the scarlet coast (took me forever to figure this out) and the mini events such as the cursed chests felt rewarding
- Enemies getting progressively harder as you not only level up and increase your Gnosis, but travel to the other locations
- The use of the apothecary is insanely helpful late game (thank you Manifestations for increasing my health)
- The Gnosis barriers encourage leveling up and completing tasks
- The functionality of each item (relic, fetish and ring) creates variance and allows the player to customize their power between fire, ice, lightning or all three
- The MUSIC is PERFECT (when calamity starts and the bell tolls begin, chefs kiss, its terrifying every time)
- The movement in the game feels good and teaches the player to manage their stamina along with attempting to stun the enemy and not become exhausted

Negatives (improvements)-
- Some of the weapons are overpowered (the Falling Star, huge stun damage for the bosses) or under powered (in my opinion the mid-range weapons don't deal much damage at mid-range and feels like they lose damage at close range
- A few spells feel obsolete such as the Stigma Diabolicum (what a name) it feels useful only for the boss fights (mainly the Galley Slave) because of how big and slow he is
- Frost cone should definitely have a wider AOE especially because it doesn't go very far (but is sorta OP)
- Spells that feel overpowered: Cursed bell (insanely OP) and Rotten Fiend (basically a second body)
- The HUD feature should either be a little bigger or centered on the screen rather than by the mini map so the player can see their magic when it recharges quicker and utilize it sooner
- It did take me a while to figure out that I can use the white feathers to upgrade my characters manifestations further past than just 7 upgrades (not sure if I missed this in the tutorial somewhere)
- Most of the magical items feel balanced, but I did find myself gravitating towards 3 specific ones over others (severed ear, mandrake and the ring of thorns) I think the severed ear was mainly for my close range weapon use (ring of wings is also OP when upgraded)
- Shadowmist ring feels useless as you might pass through an enemy on accident, but also when you pass through an enemy it doesn't turn you around and a controller player (myself) struggles with this
- Not sure if it's a bug, but at one point when I finished a calamity with the Galleon ship on the scarlet coast, it didn't go away and I had to search for the circling skulls and take them out as well
- Definitely should integrate multiplayer (maybe in a later version or second game possibly) it would be cool to adventure with a friend

One final note: if you're thinking about buying this game, just do it. You'll 100% enjoy it if you enjoy rogue-likes, puzzles, hard fights, and slightly broken guns/spells lol. Give the game a try, the developers are dedicated and want to continue creating a beautiful game, if you don't like it, you can request for you refund, but I doubt you'll want to. It's definitely a challenge and I enjoyed all of the 16 hours I put into it thus far (will continue to upgrade and become insanely OP). Hope this review convinced you :)

Hundreds of hours on PlayStation. To this day I still come back to the game over other Soulsborne games. 10/10 beautiful game.

One of my all time favorite games. If someone wants to get into open world video games, Skyrim is the place to start.
