The marvel of Paradox Interactive, Europa Universalis, takes their well proven concept of heavy in-depth strategy into a well made game. For those unaware of Paradox' strategy series you should be aware that depth is the keyword. The game will appear overwhelming at first although you can clearly see that improvements on usability has been made on this area without taking too much expense on the depth. It is an open massive strategy game that allow you to take any nation in the world around the time of 1400-1800 and develop it. Focus is on economy, diplomacy and war. There is little new above the prequels but the game still feels like an addition to the series. It is simply a polished improvement on both graphics and gameplay. The AI does its best to halt you in your plans for greatness but lacks against experienced players. Strengh comes in multiplayer. The netcode is updated and allow for hotjoining but regrettably it is not good enough to support this without syncing problems in large games, which is regrettable. Of course as a fan of the serier I would like more depth and more optional options in which an experienced player can dwelve into while not being necessary for beginners to learn.
