It isn't too hard to keep up with the releases without spending money and it's really fun to tech against meta decks.

Interesting new update. Good to know you wanted me to use my time on different games.
I'll be waiting for you to revert this update.
Until then I'd advise anyone reading this to look elsewhere for entertainment.

Turns out Hi-Rez cannot stop themselves from ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up a good game.
You ruin casual play so people can be objectively better?
That seems kinda stupid.
Me and all my friends have deinstalled the game and I invite any reader to do the same.

They even use basically the same line EA used in BF2 after taking out microtransactions. They want to watch the economy before they introduce Microtransactions. ♥♥♥♥ off. You want to see with how much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you can get away with.
As long as this system is in place you should not download this game. it's a cheap scheme to get more money by making the gameplay experience horrible for free to play players so they either whale hard or go home.
