Funny how easy is to just pirate a Capcom game and have a better experience than this DRM crap. You can't beat the internet, Capcom.

Honestly, this "game" shouldn't be on sale. The fact that it is on a "collection" is deceiving, making you believe you're buying some kind of prologue for the actual game. Weirdly enough, even the community is treating it as if it was some kind of unique installment. So if you were looking for this information and couldn't find it anywhere, here's what you getting: A very unfinished version of the chapter 1 of a canceled version of the actual game. There's nothing remarkable here, it's a basic FPS with some unique skills. It's not bad, but there's no reason for this to still be on sale considering devs already released the actual game. Perhaps it was used to fund the devs previously, I don't know, but it's not even worth as a demo considering how much Infinite have changed. Just go for the final game, It's pretty good, unique, and challenging.

Ok, this game was rooting in my library since 2015, and what a pleasant surprise. It's surprisingly beautiful if you're into deserts and post-apocalyptic scenery (considering I can play at max specs now). It's played on the same area of Fury Road (like in an opposite area not seem yet of Gas Town), and a direct sequel if not by some inconsistencies. It has the largest open world area I've ever seem without becoming a boring walking simulator (distances are ridiculous without a car, and you can see the whole map if you're high enough), filled with random events and encounters: I've never wasted so much time just roaming in a game while having FUN - this is a tutorial for devs on how to make an open world game. It's filled with free violence and the best cinematic explosions I've ever seem. You're basically getting 2 games togheter: a very good brawler that seems simple at the start, but becomes more complex as you upgrade max and new enemies appears (could be the perfect Streets of Rage 3D) and a unique car combat system. I'm not even into car games, but in this case I had a blast. You will also find several unique interesting mechanics.
WARNING: You might get spoiled for driving forever as you learn to use a car as a weapon.

Critical error simulator.
Only way to play is never opening the ingame menus, where 95% of crashs happens when browsing stuff. Crashs so hard that system get unresponsive (hard reset).
Game is actually fabulous without this issues, but no idea in what those devs have been testing their games lately, multiple common systems are getting this error and still no patch for days. Will change my review IF they fix it.

Critical Error Simulator.
Lazy devs screwed with some patch, it's on for days without a fix. This game could be a gem without a crash every 5 minuts, but in this state its unplayable.
EDIT: 6 months and no fix, not even a single patch, this is a JOKE.

A tribute to violence.

All the Maykr stuff & expansions sucks though, lore & atmosphere/soundtrack was far better on Doom 2016 when it was just a pissed off guy digging a hole through demon hordes.
Devs, forget this trash and keep it simple. Keep new mechanics only.

This remaster is the proper treatment this masterpiece deserves. If you played the game a dozen times like me and still can have more, BUY IT.
The "new" music content is even better with loyal remasters from the original composer Frank Keplacki, some tracks can have 3 or 4 alternative versions and all the original versions are there as well. And you can configure it to play the way you like it in the in-game jukebox. If you think Red Alert has the best soundtrack of all times then this remaster is a MUST. I could buy it just for Red Alert, so Tiberian Dawn is a bonus.
I'm totally amazed how they managed to NOT ruin a remaster. This is the way to do it.

Thought I've had a bad experience with this in 2013, since I find an abomination to play fps-like games on console, and decided to give it a try on pc with 80% off on sales. Just ended up playing an even worse version of it, everyone know that Capcom sucks at porting to pc, but this game is the top of the cake. While the original looks poorly tested, I'm pretty sure this port itself wasn't even tested at all. It's just a straight port, and the devs doens't even bothered adding a proper key setup for pc. Controls were always bad, and this version has even worse default configuration that you can't even fix because some commands are still tied to the same keys and there's no alternate keys setup. Just try reloading your gun when there's loot dropped close to you to see what happens. You can only change weapons through the mouse wheel (enough said, you got CONSOLIZED), and the weapon HUD is giant covering the center of the screen, meaning that changing weapons will either cause you to miss your aim, getting damaged or having to sit still till it disappear. The mouse look causes even more bugs than the console version already has, just check the forum for Chris's pier section: I died 3 times there without even knowing what happened and came straight to the forum completely convinced it was a glitch. Bingo.
Not like this is the only issue, the design itself is poor and irritating in every way possible and makes you just want to finish the game fast. Playing this game is an absolute torment that I would just recommend if you're a RE fan and needs to know the plot, and with 80% off at least. Thought about dropping it at several moments, so painful it was, and I never did it before unless the game wasn't even worth to be called a game. Enemy placement is just irritating (like placing an enemy on top of you when you can't aim straight upwards, or spawning an enemy with a gun shooting your face when your char calmly finishes climbing a ladder where you couldn't see upwards), enemies are boring (you fight enemies with guns 80% of the game, wich makes the game looks a generic shooter, and enemy design itself it not attractive), zombie mutations makes it look like you're playing L2D (wich makes the game lose it's identity and looks like a generic zombie game), and some boss fights have so terrible and ridiculous fighting scenes that will make you miss Chris punching a boulder.
There's no pause for enemies in cutscenes: they will keep walking and surrounding you and when you regain control they will instantly attack/damage you. Same will happen when you need to wait for your dumb AI partner to open a door.
I can barely call it a game, actually, seem fanmade stuff far better than this, actual players wouldn't do this crap. Looks like the devs just randomly popped enemies around the map to reach the quota. They don't even know the difference between challenging & irritating, between scare jump & a monster that bursts from the wall instantly damaging you.
Vertical Sync doens't work.
I don't even remember dying to enemies, but must've died like 50 times on instant death events due to the camera angle (there's even a record for it, died past 50). That same camera angle mess with your directions when kicks in (always in the moments you need to run), causing the direction keys to change directions, causing you to walk down a pit or just get stuck running into a wall. Not to mention the weird angle choices, like focusing on a monster while you can't see the next obstacle that will kill you.
Some QTE scenes makes you fell you're playing a buttom masher (smash to swim or you die...).
Hitting item boxes is harder and slower than hitting enemies.
There's empty sections for absolutely nothing - level start, you walk down a hallway and have to wait for a CUTSCENE to open a simple door. Shouldn't even have a door in there.
There's a few good sequences, such as the invisible snake boss and the plane crash sequence, wich are really good from the start till the end, and you will surelly have fun seeing some character's meetings. You will not want to miss those if you're a fan and gonna buy the game anyway, just be ready for the absolute torment that is playing 90% of this game. This could easily be the worse RE game ever, if that ridiculous excuse of an FPS for PS1 never existed.
This game is a disaster in every way. Stay away from it, people thumbs it up cause it has "RE" on title. I can play RE4 with the weird old school controls and have fun, but this is just an absolute torment.
