One of my all-time favorite games. After five years there are only two words that describe this game: Replay Value.

It's timeless (and timely, if you're following the script).

What keeps me coming back: It's a narrative masterpiece. Outstandingly well written. The voice acting is on point, and the dark, layered humor of the script never gets old. I care about the characters and each one has such a personality.

Visually, it's stylized and stunning. The music is so good that it's a character on its own that keeps you company, like a best friend along the way.

All these elements put together makes me feel wrapped up in a warm, zainy blanket.

It's linear. It doesn't bother me because I'm always swept up in the story and it's something I want to be apart of. So, I do feel taken care of in the game. Just bouncing straightforward from quest to quest is a ton of fun and makes the learning curve less steep. Very low barrier of entry into this game.

The FPS gameplay is medium-paced, simple and straightforward. The different makeup of skill trees satisfies those with a desire to further customize their character. There are clear roles that each character falls into, and can be utilized to create a proper group with the right teamwork. Or it can be a free-for-all and everyone can kind of bounce around and have fun that way. It's like a casual, narrative-driven, linear First Person Shooter RPG.

Pub community is where it's at. Being able to hop on and matchmake is a strength that adds to the replay value. I get satisfaction in simply accompanying someone else in their game for awhile. And, if I get lucky, they're new and on their first playthrough. That keeps things fresh for me. I shut up and enjoy the ride.

I come from a background of intense gaming. Power gaming. Spending hours/days online until my body hurt. I grew up playing Valve games and mods, Quake, all sorts. These days I prefer to remove the glued-to-your-seat adrenaline junky aspect.... and instead play for pleasure, feel good about myself and actually take breaks/get things done throughout the day (tales of an aging gamer).

This is sort of the light version of games I grew up addicted to :) Best thing is, while I can really invest it, I also feel like I can walk away from it. Like a good book. I can set it down and I look forward to picking it up later. The story will always be there.

I highly recommend this game. For those who've tried it in the past but were bored, I hope my review inspires you to take a second glance. You might think, really? BL2? It doesn't take itself seriously at all! ... And that's the point. I think it's video games as an artform and social commentary at its finest. Comedy is a dignified way of dealing with pain. Comedy unlocks it. BL2 is like one giant key.

This is FOR SURE BETA. Not intuitive, not smooth, steep learning curve for equipment management and purchase. Instructions aren't very clear on how the game works or the objective of it but it could be because it's not 100% clear on their end either. Really wanted to like this because I'm a huge fan property. I see potential. I'm hopeful.

Wouldn't recommend at this stage.

It's a fun puzzle solving game, it has really nice art, and you need a controller to fully enjoy it. It's creative in its controls - it uses one controller but it's divided in half. The left stick, trigger and bumper controls one brother while the right stick, trigger and bumper controls the other.

The story is nice too. The puzzle solving is built on the foundation of a familial bond. Brothers. They always help each other.

GET THIS. It rules. Marry your cousins, conquer. There are Game of Thrones and Elder Scrolls mods. Learning curve is high as ♥♥♥♥ but it can be replayed infinitely.

Don't be afraid of the mountain of DLC. Majority are only cosmetic. The game changing ones are cool but vanilla is just as awesome. Easy to clock a lot of time without expansions.
