This is the shortest Kingdom Rush game thus far (all achievements completed under 20 hours), however, additional free content and paid DLC are expected to arrive soon.

Heroes are unique as per usual and somehow the developers are still introducing original towers (one can swap tiles with another for example).

The enemy waves have less enemies with more impactful abilities rather than brute force swarms as the previous entries tended to have. This requires the player to focus more on technique rather than outputting bulk AoE DPS.

The only issue is that even the newgame+'esque unlockable Impossible difficulty can be beaten with any tower lineup and hero if you have all the upgrades unlocked, thus indicating a lack of strategical influence available to the player. For more experienced players this can lead to a duller experience after a few levels, albeit still somewhat enjoyable.

In conclusion, still one of the best tower defense titles out there and definitely worth a buy, however the less casual players should be aware of the lesser difficulty leading to an autopilot experience eventually.

I can't stop doing runs, theory-crafting and looking at all the things I am unlocking. Truly a satisfying experience that thus far, has not become dull. Will update review once I have unlocked all remaining content.

A reimplementation of the highly successfulAoE: II, bringing along more options in siege equipment, beautiful aesthetic and graphics, as well as many quality-of-life additions. Somehow it seems to not have cracked the code of AoE: II, having a smaller player base than its older predecessor, however the game has still amassed some following and is definitely worth a buy if you are looking into getting into a modern real-time-strategy.

This title incorporates a few elements of its predecessor mixed in with a lot of new functionality, AoE: II, as well as applying many quality-of-life changes. The result is a significantly different game feel and experience. Comparing them directly, AoE: II’s implementation feels superior, however, AoE: III is still an amazing real-time-strategy all things considered and worth a buy if you are looking for an alternate fresh RTS to learn and develop in.

Time trial events are incredibly dull, however, most of the rest is fun. Multiplayer is surprisingly stable and enjoyable. Negative review however, for broken EA integration leading to long startup times or straight up throwing errors and not being able to launch until I reboot my system.
