This game can be very frustrating. However you will go through a couple of stages of learning until you finally zip through the levels at lightning speed.

The game is not too difficult, but does require some patience.

I don't expect this to have much replay value, though. I have achieved 100% and don't really expect to play much in the future.

I'd say it's worth the 2 bucks for 6 hours of game-play.

It's a fun time waster for casual players. Which is why I cannot give a negative review.

For anyone who actually wants to reach high scores it's not a good game. The mechanics are to clunky and inconsistent.
Especially split kicks fail to connect way too often.
You cannot turn around without punching/kicking, which will instantly knock back enemies, pushing them out of reach. This prevents combos, leading to brain dead left/right spamming, to prevent getting hit.
Too often do you get spammed by enemies requiring jumping and ducking simultaneously, leading to near unavoidable damage.

Jump combos allow enemies to hit you on your way down, so you can only reliably do them when you aren't surrounded, which is incredibly counter intuitive.

If you're a completionist, you will hate getting the 10k kills and 200 score. It's very tedious.

Sadly not really worth it.

It's just the original game, but you get letters from someone else (Sugar Plumps is way better). Also there are 20(?) new items, so you have to complete additional combos.

Other than that, the mystery is the same, the progression is the same and the end is the same.

I literally just played through this for the 100% completion.

This game is a diamond in the rough.

The art and atmosphere are exceptionally beautiful. The mechanics are deceptively simple but are surprisingly versatile.

However, I find the combat a bit too slow and cumbersome. I wish it was a little more snappy. Lastly, Mako's reach is simply pitiful (or enemy hit-boxes are off). My punches are very clearly visually connecting with the enemy, but no damage is being done.

We also absolutely need to be able to rebind the controls in game. I was able to work around this using steam key-binds, but that is, frankly, sub-optimal.

Furthermore, given the rather slow and grand movements, some areas feel too small. Especially the "machine gun" enemies, whose rapid attacks require big dodges, shouldn't be standing in such claustrophobic corners.

Finally, PLEASE get someone to look at the dialogue. Some of these characters talk like absolute caricatures.

None the less, I have high hopes. With some polishing, I expect the full game to be absolutely wonderful.

All the best.

This game simply doesn't fulfil the promises it makes.

What you think you get:
Robotic Doom with custom guns firing a sh**load of ordinance at countless enemies while bouncing through the air at breathtaking speeds.

What you really get:
neutered guns that barely do any damage after three rooms, countless limp-d**k jumps that will have you destroying your space-bar just to gain your own size in height, absurdly claustrophobic rooms (and not in a good way), complete lack of variety.

Regarding level design: There are a lot of cool ideas with jump pads and environmental hazards and hidden areas but most rooms are either extremely claustrophobic or large and empty. Neither of which works with the movement AT ALL because while you are fast and floaty, making you too imprecise for small rooms your movement is also ridiculously limited in large rooms because you have to entirely rely on jump pads to get around at reasonable speeds (or sometimes at all). All this is just exacerbated by the complete lack of resources. For a bullet hell game, you are punished way to hard for taking damage (which is often entirely unavoidable) by an absurd rarity of heal ups and the gun crafting simply doesn't provide you with the parts you need to make anything useful.

You will never build the guns in the screenshots you see above. (Unless you are content building them in the tiny test range after well over a hundred hours of game-play. In reality you will be using badly cobbled together guns with two or three low grade barrels and 3 maybe 4 attachments. Not to mention that 90% of the barrels are utterly useless, unless you build very specific combinations which, like I mentioned before, is not going to happen in the actual game-play.

Concept: Very cool.
Execution: Incohesive mess of conflicting game mechanics.

Verdict: Play DOOM instead. The gun crafting doesn't save this game, quite the opposite, in fact, it DOOMS it.

I really want to enjoy this game. However the only mode that is remotely fun is the basic Team v Team mode.

This game is plagued by annoying physics which makes modes like deathmatch almost unplayable. Once you start ragdolling, when your shield is down, you have lost control of your ship, which completely negates the point of the shield system. All in all, most fights boil down to "who has the higher tier, the more broken ship, or the better internet connection."

The only way to get actually reliable kills is to surprise someone, which really shouldn't be the main focus of a space moba.

Lastly ships are incredibly unbalanced. Some ships have 2 hit kill weapons with incredible turn speeds so it is impossible to avoid them, since the flight physics really don't allow for a lot of evasive maneuvers. Then this game is designed around ship upgrading, where you progressively unlock bigger and badder tiers. That means running away is the often the only option. But it really isn't because bigger doesn't mean slower in this game.

This practically removes any hope of regain, an important aspect of every pvp, after falling behind by just one tier.

When this game first came out, it was a lot slower with less content. At that point the physics actually complemented the game, because fights actually took a bit of time and counterplay was actually possible no matter which ship anyone was using.

Forager has some annoying input issues, though. Like why is is so impractical to place landfills and roads? (You can't place them freely but the placement rules are very unreliable and clumsy.) In general aim is somewhat unreliable.

Other than that this game is very laid back and enjoyable.

Play the campaign and then stop. FOREVER! It is a lot of fun the first time round. But the moment you start replaying levels and expect to improve, the game becomes absolutely frustrating because of how finnicky it is.

Also the ship explodes on the landing pad at way to low speeds. It took me way longer to get 100 landings than it should have, simply because I expected to be slow enough. Which from a gamedesign (and logic) perspective I clearly should have been. However you are expected to go so absurdly slow vertically, that the tiniest horizontal velocity can completely ♥♥♥♥ you over and cost you a lot of time or even the entire run.
