Early Access Review
If you liked Ruthless mode in PoE you will love this version.

Feels polished, slowed down, more dangerous & visceral combat, a tad less tedious on some aspects, more on others.

The ambience is like none other, great dialogue, storytelling, visuals, you get sucked in the playable movie.

Haven't reached endgame yet.

PoE zooming players beware, you might not be able to adapt to this superior game version.

It's fun, don't get me wrong, but there's a hard paywall on anything immediately, storage, worlds, outfits, classes, more character slots, all cost money$. I,d rather they make us pay some 20$ upfront and let us play without having to purchase all these things seperately.

A lot of patience required, but then, juicy rebirth nuking. Numbers go up, adventure mode, etc etc etc plenty of juicing.

Good 3 hour gameplay if you take your time to grind to max items and upgrades, very engaging if you like platform/shooting side scrollers. Music is good, gameplay is somewhat challenging if you dont upgrade much. worth it when under 10$ imo.

Still rough edges at the time of the review, but its a solid game of it's own style. Borrowing elements from card games, some from ARPGs diablo-esque. Pretty and minimal layout with engaging active combat even though it has the card game element. I normally cannot play card games, but this isn't strategy more-so about cards giving skills, passives and on-use abilities, and leveling the card to their next tier actually does a big change and is worth working toward. I am very biased since I love ARPGs where you can min-max your character's equipment / make a combination of items to make it easier on yourself or harder on purpose.

Just download the demo, its free and it shows what you want, if you like it or not.

I played 2 hours or so nonstop. Messes with your brain in a good way. The more you play the easier it gets but not really since they change up the mechanics of the game all the time randomly as you progress. I would recommend to anyone who has few hours to kill it's very fun.

Careful about the epilepsy flashes though.

Amusing achievements too!

While fun overall leveling and unique for it's 2D style, the game as a lot of issues, and it's why I would not recommend it. You're free (well kind of) to try it and form your own opinion but this is just me.

Biggest cons in my opinion:

You are forced to get carried for the good loot that you would need to do the bosses with, which is silly. The alternative is to play the OP classes that doesn't require much insane gearing.

Potential on items is so rare it's stupid, and since you need to potential all your gear but only have a small chance to actually succeed the scrolls.

You need to buy pets with real money to loot items for you, otherwise it's just tedious to get the item drops, and they are not permanent duration.

A lot of quests don't have any good guidance as to what to do next or where to go, end up alt tabbing to see what needs to be done, and a lot of times guides aren't up to date so it's extra difficult.

Prequests are sometimes long, annoying and or not rewarding to unlock bosses. And guess what, you need to redo all of them if you want to play those on another character.

Server issues and maintenance downtime are often ludicrous, For example today is a big event arrival and only 1-3 very unstable servers are usable and sometimes the game won't even launch.

The resolution is quite low, so when you're on a higher native resolution and tabbing out it's really annoying.

Most of the clicking with the mouse is then cluncky and if you're slightly inaccurate the action won't perform. Such as dialogue boxes and menus and so on.

You need to play many characters at high levels before getting more damage for endgame that is somewhat required for certain classes.

This review was written after I played a Mechanic to lvl 205 in reboot, made a bunch of different funding characters to boost the damage and tried to min max all my gear alone + some good gear I got from being rushed through a guild.

Rogue-like remaster of the original game, with DLC that just landed and probably more in the future.
The story behind how weird it looks is to be discovered with the intro and the elements you find as you play, but you're basically a crying baby that uses it's tears to destroy enemies (which can vary in a huge array of combinations).
You will have to learn how to dodge each monster you encounter, see how they fight back, and hell, maybe you can make it through to see the last bosses this game have.

A lot of randomization, which makes for a game that can be played forever without getting the same exact combo, even now more so with the new items added recently.

Challenging fights and boss fights.

Select and unlock new characters that have different properties and themselves unlock different items related to them.

For the price it's listed, it's a steal!
