The best part about it is the logo

The first chunk of the game where you're able to choose a direction, swim and find something new is exhilarating. It's very rare to find a game that's able to accomplish discovery in a fun, natural progression. The pacing falls off pretty hard about two-thirds of the way in, where you go from finding new biomes, creatures and blueprints every half an hour to every couple hours. That's also about the point where you stop receiving any kind of guidance, and if you miss a beat with the story or get a bit confused about where to go next, you'll either find yourself looking up wiki guides or aimlessly wandering for hours. I also found there to be a distinct feeling of 'jank' that was a little hard to get over, like the game lacked a bit of polish that would go a long way for immersions sake.

Admittedly open world survival games aren't generally my kinda thing, and speaking as someone from that camp I'd still give this game a pretty heavy recommendation, even if you end up dropping it once the pacing falls off, the first half or so of the game is pretty incredible.

The campaign for this game makes a mockery of 90% of every other military shooter on the market today. Just goes to show what is possible when the creators give a damn. 9/10 would have my expectations blown out of the water again.

It's difficult to put into words why this game is good. The combat is alright, the rpg elements work fine, but they all supplement the same thing: the story. This game will make you laugh. This game WILL make you cry. This game will make you care. I've never cared for characters or a game as much as I have for Undertale. I highly recommend going in knowing as little as possible about it, as the surprise factor will make everything that much more enjoyable.

This game lacks much in the way of innovation. The first couple hours are ok when you're unlocking new powers etc, but after that point it becomes painfully samey, to the point where I was skipping combat just to finish the game. It was a sigh of relief to finish it. It's not horrid, but I wouldn't reccommend it, you can do much better for a puzzle platformer.
