I absolutely loved this game. The narrative was brilliant, and the oppressive visual presentation was very unique. The point and click gameplay felt very streamlined and always had a forward momentum while not being trivial. If you're into point and clicks and horror definitely pick this up.

The OG is of course, a classic, but the new expansion by Machine Games is some of the best Q2 content I've played. Incredible level design with each stage feeling like a tiny bite sized campaign. PLAY IT!

A delightful precision platformer. Hundreds of bite-sized levels, charming pixel art aesthetics and great music.

The procedural generation ultimately works against the game due to erratic difficulty spikes and the fact that so much of the game won't be seen unless you replay it over and over again feels like wasted effort on the designer's part.
This simply doesn't stack up to the thoughtful and deliberate design of the original, and it has nothing to do with the new control scheme.

First, the good stuff. Most levels feel very unique and each one has a distinct theme. The creepy vibes and atmosphere were beautifully crafted, and the artwork was fantastic.

That being said, this could have been a lot better than it was if a few key issues were addressed.
First of all, there's barely any damage feedback. You could feel like an enemy slightly nudged you but in practice half your health would be gone. A lot of the animations are quite poor, where instead of drawing new frames from scratch one frame is simply cut/warped and adjusted slightly. The voice acting is awful. (At least for the Journalist which is the character I played). Lastly, the last third of the game was simply annoying to get through with a lot of super quick enemies firing super quick projectiles (there's a power that's supposed to freeze enemies in place, but it almost never worked as intended) and infuriating platforming sections all of which soured my early enjoyment of the game.

The game suffers from severe technical issues. Performance took a nosedive around the half way point and got progressively worse as the game went on (RTX off on a 2070 Super). By the end the game was running under 20 FPS. In no way did the visuals justify such a hit.
The shooting gameplay was as basic as can be and the story came to an unsatisfying, abrupt end after around 3 hours.
The cherry on top was the achievement for finishing on the harder difficulty not triggering.
Don't waste your time with this one.

Speaking as someone who has never really watched the show as a kid nor played the original NES game, this game was an absolute delight from beginning to end. Superb platforming, good amount of challenge and a fun story. You can feel the love put into this game at every turn. Major props to everyone involved!

Dropped inputs, almost no keyboard support, no way to play the game in 4:3 mode without scanlines, oh, and get this, you have to alt+f4 to quit the game.
It's a sad state of affairs when you're better off using a free NES emulator than the official release.

The visuals are absolutely gorgeous. This game oozes style with every pixel and the soundtrack is fantastic. The games themselves are all fun and I really enjoyed the bite-sized genre hopping. I was curious to see where the narrative is going but unfortunately after only 90 minutes of play time it came to a screeching halt with a 'to be continued' just as it was getting interesting . That being said I still enjoyed my time with it and it's definitely worth experiencing even as it is.
Here's hoping for a sequel!

A very cute looking large scale escape room type of game with slick art and great music. Not too hard but still satisfying.
