Tales from the Borderlands is the next Telltale game, and the first thing you may think is - boy, another Telltale game. I mean sure, you have played the Walking Dead and enjoyed it, but some of the others have been less than average. Well this game is DEFINATELY not less than average.

Tales from the Borderlands encorporates lore and story/plot points across the 3 main Borderlands games throughout its 5 episodes. While the main characters that you control you have never met before, there are definately some new and old friends you will meet along the way. The game is enjoyable and I ended up playing through its entirety in 1 sitting, taking around 12 hours, give or take a few, because I took time to think about decisions and searched up story points I didnt recognise on various wikis.

While I think the game is great, there are some decisions you have no choice about that I really dislike that you encounter through your adventure. i.e. Having Scooter kill himself, blowing up the moon base and not outright disliking Jack throughout your entire adventure

When you near the end of the game, instead of the usual button mashing or occasional push of a button, you will come across Super Smash Brosesque combos which you can use, which make the game a whole lot more fun for people who tire easily at button mashing.

One of the best things about Tales From the Borderlands is the amount of choice that is available. While there are the usual multi decision points, that drive the story, there are also multi decision points that can make something cool or funny happen, and also, while you collect money throughout the game, new opportunities such as cosmetics for your person or caravan are unlocked, along with some other stuff later which is linked a bit more directly to the story.

While playing this game on keyboard and mouse is okay, I reccommend playing it on controller. I used a PS3 controller with the XInput program on Windows 8, which was really easy to use. To search how to set it up (if you are having trouble using MoitionInJoy, search for an Instructables article on it, that goes step by step on how to set it up)

This story is non linear, and has many twists and decisions that are made that surprised even myself, whereas I can usually guess where a movie or game plot goes before it gets there. While there arent too many surprises at the start, as you get through to the end, when the main storyline and the storyline where you are telling the story to the person that has captured you, things get interesting. While I thought that Telltale would use this plot point to spin off for its next episodic game, Tales from the Borderlands 2, they actually continuted the game, adding another hour that actually closed off many of the questions I had about the plot. By the end of the game, most plot points, if not all, are closed, with a possibility for a second game, but no cliffhanger to entice you to buy the next game, one of the many grievences that people have with Telltale games.

If you have any questions about this game before you buy it, feel free to friend me and I can talk about it, but I would rate this game 10/10, and am hoping to play it again in a few months and make different decisionsto see how it changes it. (For a bit more fun, try collecting all the money you can - some is hidden really hard - and if you can try to get Fiona and rhys together. It is hard. Believe me :D)
