i am going to recommend this game with the caveat that the ending is abrupt and unsatisfying, but the journey to get there is the usual Saints Row fare, so if you go into this with that in mind you should have an okay time.

combat QoL changes from the previous games perk up the process of plowing through enemies without making it feel like a grind, the vast array of activities to lose time to if you're into that kind of thing, and the tight driving controls made my time in Santo Ileso an enjoyable adventure that i don't feel was wasted.

note on steam deck compatibility: i played this entire game on a 1TB OLED model and had all of one crash where the player character clipped into the environment and got stuck which required a restart. no other issues in any way.

tl;dr - fun game. don't expect a masterwork, but you'll have fun with it.

Another fun entry in Devcats' "Full of Cats" series. It has cute art and catchy music, and the base game will hold you for a little over an hour, with the added three scenarios from the DLC giving another forty minutes or so. The DLC is well worth the price and I hope they have a few more on the pipeline so I can continue to support their mission to help cat rescues.

The specs on my 2019 Acer Nitro 5 laptop:
AMD Ryzen 5 2500U (2.00 GHz)
Radeon RX 560X GPU
32GB RAM (upgraded from factory standard of 8GB)
1TB HDD

I updated my graphics drivers to latest and installed the most recent Windows 10 updates before I started the game. It auto-set me to lowest settings everywhere in the display tab, and I modified the music volume settings a little because Bethesda games always set the music too loud for my tastes. I keep the captions on for *all* dialogue.

Using this machine I get a routine crash whenever I enter the Lodge, but when I reload the autosave it loads me inside there so I'm not too bothered. The audio frequently desyncs when entering conversations but by the second line it's fixed itself so, again, I'm not too bothered, especially since the captions work to keep me in the convo.

Loading screens going into new areas range from 30 seconds to two minutes. I instinctively let my character stand in place for ten seconds or so after everything has loaded so it doesn't get overwhelmed and crash. The music tends to cut out if I'm running around too fast, so I just ignore it.

I'm giving this technical overview *now* so people with machines like mine know they can still play the game provided they're okay with these few hangups. A lot of RAM can bruteforce games like these, and is likely the only reason I can get this thing going. If you don't care too much about Starfield looking like a current gen game, and can pick up your phone to mess a round for a minute or two when loading a new city, then yes, you can play it.

My review for the actual game ten hours in: It's fun. I enjoy resource gathering and fetch quests and typical Bethesda-like mechanics, so this is just a chill space game for me to roll around and occasionally shoot things in.

I really don't care if this is cutting edge, I just want to have fun, and so far Starfield is definitely scratching the space exploration sim itch for me. Your own experience may vary.

you gotta admit, five bucks for a brick of pure colombian white is a pretty good deal.

fun tower defense/blockswapping game with a Dungeon Keeper-type theme and a roguellike mechanic where the more rituals you fulfill in a run the more floors are preserved when your tyrant inevitably succumbs in battle and you have to begin again with a new one. easy to learn, easy to get hooked. i haven't touched this game in years, reinstalled on a whim, and immediately lost an hour.

it is very possible that i am ethically and/or morally broken because none of the thought experiments presented in this game really made me upset or uncomfortable. it's a bunch of hypotheticals, not thought crimes. it's designed to make you think about your own biases and the extent of your self-interest, i suppose? but i'm over a decade out from my philosophy period so i either was already familiar with the argument or familiar enough with the method that i didn't have to expend much energy with the choices.

the game itself is well-presented and amusingly written. if you want more thought experiments, The Pig That Wants to be Eaten by Julian Baggini is a good jumping off point. or you could read anything from the vast array of Science Fiction short stories and novels available, since that genre loves to grapple with this kind of stuff on the regular.

they took what was already a pretty solid game model and added larger levels, more cats, and a zoom function so you don't have to hurt your eyes while searching. A+, well worth your money and time. looking forward to their next kitty adventure. maybe in spaaaaaace?

i went nuts over Shenzen Solitaire back in 2017, as one does, and every variation of solitaire Zachtronics has made since then hasn't disappointed. they all have just the right amount of difficulty to make you tear your hair out on the first hand and then mindlessly win game after game once you get used to the mechanics. i'm immensely pleased with this collection and getting it for ten bucks is an absolute steal.

Cute search and find game. Many kitties to delight. The worst achievement on steam truly is the worst, and how dare the devs add it. 10/10, will be a cold and unfeeling monster for the completionist stat again.

Cute sudoku puzzles of a decent difficulty increase that features kitties instead of numbers. You can, of course, switch over to numbers if you really want to, but why? Why forsake the cats for the cold grip of numbers? Why turn your back on the fuzziness in favor of digits?
