Such a chill and cool little colony builder. Not too demanding, but fun, intuitive and with just enough to do that it's not overwhelming. Really really loved it. Looking forward to the upcoming updates to dive back in!

Having come from Civilization (surprise surprise), the similarities are obvious, but Humankind seems less nebulous to me. The use of clearly defined Eras and Era Stars makes it easier to see where your next steps should be in a way that is somewhat more difficult in Civ.

At the same time, while moving cultures every era makes for a good distinction from Civ, it can create a certain amount of disconnect between the player and their nations. Though the pivoting enabled by changing cultures makes for pretty flexible and reactive gameplay.

It takes a few games to start to understand the balancing act of FIMS and Districts, but once you know what you need, it's clear how to go about putting it into practice (having the resources to go about actually doing it is a different matter though!).
