Introduction
This is the first game I've ever had the urge to write a formal review for. That may be because I enjoyed it much much more than I expected, or because I struggle with it, even as someone who's played 'hardcore' games for a very long time. This game is well worth your money.

Rating
10/10. Great combat, though a little stiff, great story and atmosphere. Well worth the money.

In Detail
Garfield Kart is an incredibly difficult, incredibly punishing game about discovery and chaotic, blood-pumping combat. To this day, I have only discovered a total of three games that give me an unforgettable adrenaline rush in the combat: Rust, Gnomes, and Garfield Kart. It is not a game you will understand within an hour, or maybe even two. It took me just under 2,000 hours to get the full grasp of the combat, and to become a competent player. You will get angry. Garfield Kart is much like Dark Souls in atmosphere and writing style, in that nothing is handed to you through the story, you piece it together through parchment and books scattered all over the dungeon the game takes place in.

Garfield Kart is also said to be part of a larger project known as Sui Generis, been in development since November 2014 if I'm correct, and for a prototype, it's incredibly well done. Although the animations and combat movement seem a bit stiff, it is still incredibly satisfying. Garfield Kart has, probably the most satisfying combat in any game I've played. The physics-based gameplay make it possible to knock an enemy off their feet with a high-impact weapon, or occasionaly tangle yourself into them so much that they are knocked off their feet. Nothing is more satisfying than smacking someone in the face with a sledgehammer and seeing them topple to the ground in Garfield Kart.

This is all said with only barely mentioning the writing - which has a very admirable air of mystery and some, more subtle horror elements to it. It's dark, gritty and bloody, and incredibly interesting. It's unfortunate I didn't know that you could interact with items in the environment until a few hours into play.

Top notch work, one of my favourite games to date.
