If you liked the first game, you will like this. Much of the same with more progression and story beats, filled to the brim with pop culture references, a few QoL upgrades over the original as well.

I bought this game on steam with the intention of playing it on steam.

now forcing a 3rd party account registration months after FULL product release with no benefit to the user, only to inflate sony stock for Q2 2024 ... refund request submitted. Successful or not i encourage all to do the same. please upvote for visibility

Game still has a long way to go. Doesnt quite feel like it was ready for early access without possibly some more time in private alpha to highlight a few obvious bugs. Going to mention some here since Dev's seem well aware of their comments -
#1 - number 2 on codelocks doesnt appear to work
#2 - Jitter of weapon or equipped tool (you mentioned a work around but thats not good enough when the work around is shift your aim more, not in a PVP game)
#3 - No player counts on official server list. Dont believe more then 2 - 3 have been on the APAC server as far as i can tell from my time spent.
#4 - Chat box needs top be opened with a hotkey, so even if someone connects; without knowing the specific bind will never see any chatter and think game is dead.
#5 - placable items sit well off the surface you place them on (like the deer head), these items should not be in game if they dont function. it only reflects poorly on the devs.
#6 - requires an FOD slider or a better way to preload rendered objects. 200fps on a 2080 super until you go over a mountain and it drops to approx 5.

TL;DR - concept is good, game feels good (most of the time) but definitely needs more time in the oven.

Amazing atmosphere, unique gameplay mechanics.. very fun game..
however appears to be dead in APAC region.. unable to find a game in any matchmaking lobby.

Kenshi is a very hard game to explain. But put simply its a hardcore sandbox rpg/management game on a planet with more things trying to kill you then the Australian bush. You are not the chosen one, you are not special.. and you will lose limbs lol

that said, this games depth and proprietary engine allows for some hilarious situations to occur.

Pick this up if you are looking for a game that is going to absolutely kick your ass over and over.. but when you eventually start understanding the mechanics and the world; this game really comes into its own.

Deep narrative where your choices matter. Worth playing through multiple times.
Ive completed 2 throughways myself (as of the time of writing) and have hardly touched most of the content.

would recommend hiding the consequences of your choices for a more engaging experience.

i have mainly played the ranked (2v2) mode, however the game also includes several other multiplayer modes.
- Well balanced and deep mechanics with some RNG to shake things up.
- all paid options are cosmetic only.
- deep card and progression system to keep the collectionists happy.
- Friendly community and discord
- competitive 2v2 ladder (still viable for pubs up to top tier ranks - then its recommended that you have a partner to plan strats with)
- in depth stats system to let you review and learn from mistakes/good games
- build order based eco (similar to old school starcraft lol)

Great to see 2K bringing back a P2P server to allow players to play this absolute ♥♥♥ gem once again....
however this will be a very short-lived revival unless they re-list this game on steam for new players to download and experience.

NOTE: Just something for the devs to know, please upvote this review for what visibility remains. Keys on ♥♥♥, one of the only ways for new players to gain access to this game are going for upwards of USD$50 (from what i can find? comment otherwise) as they know there is a demand and appetite.. 2K, re-list this game, add some resources and re-activate your cosmetic market (as its now the norm).. get some revenue and support going for this gem!

UPDATE: @Zekkikun has pointed out Amazon has keys available so the game is available through other avenues other then gray markets thankfully.
