Obviously, this is a good game. I don't think you need me to tell you that after years of people saying that already. What I can say, is that I have played, and finished the game several times and there still are moments that I enjoy, still the occasional challenge despite the level of experience I have. It's not just a game you have to play once and forget.. it's a game I go back to, to be in this world and enjoy the characters again long after. Like any good classic, it stays with you forever.

Really Fun game. Perhaps more so with a friend, or in my case my daughter. She's 7, nearly 8, and the pace allows her the time to think through the process and the advancement of the difficulty is manageable, while still being a challenge for both of us to enjoy.

If not for promising I wouldn't play without her.. I would most certainly play it solo as well.

There are a couple of tiny details that are a problem for us, in particular the inability to assign the second player to keyboard. It's either both players have a controller, or player 1 uses keyboard.. which just happens to be the girl character and she doesn't want to play the grandpa. The other issue so far was that we couldn't find any real details about what the levels do in equipment. We can see what new weapons do, but if you level it up, we assume it gets stronger? but have no idea in what way. Some additional text to show a % increase of what stats would be a big help in deciding how to spend our in game credits.

Again, a really solid game. Worth the money and time :)

So, I've just started it. I love the art style and it's clearly Zelda inspired all the way down to some quotes. Thing is, Link here would be a store keeper. Entering dungeons (only 5 of them and each unlocks the next) and a stardew-ish town where you can pay to add shops that will then sell you other items. or upgrade your own shop to make more cash... There are no other areas to explore in the world, just the dungeon area and the town. and again, the dungeons must each be unlocked so expect to be seeing a lot of the same thing again and again.

Controls are fairly easy to grasp and there are basic strategies to the various creatures you find inside the dungeons which randomly generate upon entry. The story starts off like it's going somewhere, but in the dungeons there are random entries in journals of explorers which do little to progress it and I'm not yet sure how long before I get a new story snippet.

At the point of writing this, I've played 1.5 hrs and I'm not yet certain if I like it or not. I like the Art, music, combat, general theme.. but the shop thing and dungeon grind aspect is not working for me. I don't mind random dungeon generation, but that seems to be all there is with the only goal being to grab loot to sell, or get a key to another dungeon to .. well, grab loot or get a key.. again.. I'm really not sure why one would make such a strong Zelda reference in their game only to make a complete left turn away from the genre.

I intend to keep playing and see where it goes... Maybe the story will pick up and win me over? We'll see.

So if you like grinding random dungeons to get items you can set prices for and sell so you can get rebuild a town and get shop and weapon upgrades and maybe a bit of story thrown in.. this game could be all you want! If you were hoping for a Zelda style RPG with a new story and upgraded art.. go elsewhere.

Early Access Review
When you start, you must do two things.

1. set the mode to easy, no seriously because normal doesn't give you the time to learn before they crush you.
2. read one of the strategy guides online, because the game won't tell you much on it's own.

For me, it was a bit of warcraft 2, mixed with Civilization-ish play elements. The fact that it's realtime doesn't mean that it's intensive management. Unlike Warcraft or Starcraft where you're managing many things at the same time, it still feels like it sits between realtime and turn based. At least at the start. The other clans are kind of doing their own thing, with their own goals, it's not until you start competing for land that things begin to heat up.

Is it a good game? yes, I think so. I like the art, the music, the mood, and the general gameplay. There is room to grow and it certainly feels off balance still, but it's in early release right now and has a lot of room to grow. If you liked starcraft/warcraft and you liked Civilization.. you'll likely enjoy this game, if you hated either of those games, you may not. Simple as that.
