Where Terraria and Starbound could be considered as Sandbox/Survival games with RPG elements (the RPG elements part is debatable, though), Realms of Magic is very strongly an RPG with Sandbox/Survival elements. There are NPC towns with dialogue and quests, and armor/tools/weapons do NOT have durability; these two early-game examples are really indicative of the design direction this game is going - an old-school RPG first and foremost.

FYI, it's an adult game with mature language and themes, not made for children. Damn funny though.

Lots of it's elements are clearly inspired by classic PC RPG's like Elder Scrolls and Ultima, and the game is extremely polished already.

I can tell I will be playing this for a long time.

Developed by that big Chinese company that saved ARK from being shut-down over that legal thing a while back. Might seem like a total knock-off of ARK at first, but it really is a much better designed game (so far). The addition of town mechanics, questing and clear progression with some actual story is much more forgiving and coherent an experience than ARK. It feels more like an adventure/RPG sandbox than ARK.

Plus, I personally much prefer the idea of fantasy creatures over dinosaurs.

With that said, the game is relatively new and does have a lot of bugs. I think the Elven faction starting area is the least buggy ATM. I see a LOT of potential though, if you don't mind funding EA and aren't silly enough to expect a completely smooth experience then I do recommended it.

Seemed fun but is very broken. Tutorial was fine but in every match I either get killed within 10 seconds by something invisible or I get spawned *inside* the border landscape, only to be killed by something invisible if I manage to get out before what seems to be a new-join invulerability cooldown wears off.

Maybe one day I'll try again, but I'll probably forget it ever existed.

It's basically Transport Tycoon II. Still lots of stuff unfinished, but if you liked OpenTTD then it's worth funding for sure. Also, it's absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

A beautiful love letter to the best city-builder strategy games of yore. Draws on all the things that were great about the Cultures series, Settlers 7 and Majesty II yet still manages to be original and charming in little ways where it counts. Difficulty is not dumbed-down either - I actually hard to start over the second and third campaign missions once (each) because of my carelessness.

Note that combat is very RTS-like (i.e. Command and Conqer) - while it is realtime the AI can be easily outsmarted through kiting and the like.

Fun game, different to the usual stuff. Makes me laugh regularly at the whacky physics and silly one-liners the protagonist makes. Interesting setting and concept. Lovely sprites and soundtrack. Real old-school gaming at its finest.

Not bad, quite a charming little action platformer - good but not great. A little anaemic on the "metroidvania" elements, and quite short overall (games like Hollow Knight and Ori have raised the bar quite a bit in this regard though).

Also not difficult at all, easy even. Most bosses I beat in my first attempt and half of the powerups I never even bothered with.

But overall, good. Not great, but good.

I used to rate this game but I cannot anymore mostly because there is very bad balancing and the GM's play favouritism with certain players and will chat ban you for a week just for being a LITTLE bit off-topic. Most of the time GM's are not online though and chat can get VERY toxic with things from extreme political views with current world events, to female players going on about Instagram and OnlyFans garbage. If you do decide to play, do NOT let yourself be baited into ANY off-topic chat. Also note that the Asia and Australian servers are basically dead, and the new player experience is terrible due to low player counts.

Amazing story. One of those ones I just couldn't put down and binged-played for days until the end.

I have not enjoyed a Metroidvania game this much since the classic Metroid games themselves. The lore is great, the story has that sense of mystery, the secrets are clever and the progression is exciting.

Most of all, it's not stupidly difficult.

One of my favorite indie titles to date. I hope these guys keep making games.
