I played WoW for 17 years, since the launch of vanilla back in 2004 or 2005, and while I had a great time during my years there... it got stale and boring.
FFXIV has such a strong community and amazing content that it blows my 17 years of WoW out of the water and I'm sad I hadn't hopped on the game sooner.
I only have 1000+ hours on FFXIV, but every second has been so fun and enjoyable for me.
If you love MMORPGs, this is definitely a must.
The only downside is the long Main Story Quest (MSQ) cut scenes. I mean most have been enjoyable, but there are some that you start to skip through just to advance through the story out of sheer boredom.
But other than that, I have no real complaints about this game and definitely recommend it for any MMO player out there looking to have fun, especially if you've play any of the other Final Fantasy games out there.

Early Access Review
I downloaded this game because of all the hype and how it was the #1 watched game on Twitch in the last 48 hours (I'm a streamer myself).
Upon installation, I went live on Twitch to share the excitement I had for this game, after seeing others playing it on Twitch and YouTube, and it just looked neat and kind of fun.
But when I started the game, with live viewers, it was unplayable because of a "5 minute" patch, as stated by the devs on their Twitter. The 5 minutes turned into 2+ hours, so I had to end my stream prematurely.
After some time, I was able to finally able to log into a server again.
Once I was in, though, it was a disaster. The character creation screen, the menu system, the font choice... it was a complete mess! This was worse than an Alpha version of a game!
I have a gaming laptop that can handle any modern title on Ultra graphical settings, yet, even while logged into ATLAS with the absolute LOWEST graphical settings, the game was unplayable. I received 10 frames per second, at best.
I heard somewhere that this was a pirate game, and they succeeded because this was a quick cash grab by the developers of ATLAS. Why was this even pre-approved as an "early release" on Steam? I've played many early release titles on Steam and none even sank to this level of garbage.
I was playing the lowest settings for everything, and it looked like a pixelated King's Quest game from the late 1980's, and with only 10 frames per second and terrible ping rate (the server updates said they were trying to FIX that but apparently nothing was fixed).
I streamed the game for 45 minutes, 35+ minutes trying to fix the terrbiel visual and gameplay quality, before I gave up and uninstalled the game and requested my refund from Steam.
The game sounds very promising in the future, but right now, it shouldn't even be allowed to be played by the public unless you're in some private testing group for PRE-ALPHA. This is not even close to Beta-level stuff.
Don't buy this game until next year when it's more polished and officially released.
