Thief (2014) is a great game, as well as its predecessors. ~ 8/10 ~

I take the liberty to say that because I’ve played all the saga so far since 1998 trust me, and enjoyed every episode.
It is a game where you have to steal everything you have eyes on and loot what you need to achieve your goal; you are a Master Thief, always remember that.
Garrett says: it is not important how to steal but what you steal.
- Campaign is interesting since the beginning, unlike its predecessors this time Garret shows his feelings, he feels that he misses his female friend (is he in love with her, or she's like a sister for him? we don't know), partner of many adventures.
He wants to discover the truth and what happened to her.
- The gameplay is much more improved than Thief older releases; we have as always various kind of arrows, arsenal and tools.
This time we have ‘focus’ that we can spend to use our special skills and later we can upgrade them spending gems that we can acquire during campaign.

Special active/passive skills are:
  • Special vision of the environment around you that allows you to discover secrets, traps, hidden doors and devices and loot.
  • Stealthy trait, for a short period of time you can move without making any noise even on surfaces where you normally do, and you can stay in a lighted area without being seen.
  • While in combat you can use the claw as a mace to momentarily stun your opponent with a hit to the chest, or knock them out with a blow to the head.
  • Zoom improved and bow’s accuracy increased
  • You can detect steps and movements of nearby enemies
  • Dexterity, you can pickpocketing more loots in a row
Enhanced view of the lock mechanism to open doors/chests faster
  • Increase the speed of the pick locking and arrows reloading, and slow time around you
  • Reduce your focus consuming
  • and more...
With the money you ‘earn’ by completing missions and stolen loot you can buy trinkets from vendors, gems for upgrades and items that improve the gameplay.
What's been kept in Thief it’s the feeling of stealing, the pressure on you when you’re exploring environments and locations where you are not welcome/allowed to.
I suggest to play it with a slow pace, carefully, control the environment around and movements, trying to steal everything without being seen.
Garret was there but nobody saw him. Much better if Garrett was there, but nobody knows.
However you can play aggressively, it's up to you how to approach your game.

Pro:
How to approach a mission it's up to you. As a Ghost, as Opportunist or as Predator.
Challenges are a great add.
You can customize difficulty before start a new game.
It is very rewarding and satisfying to finish the game at 725+ points challenge.

Not good:
Missions are too linear.
Side quests are boring. Loot and open drawers, closets without any threat or danger around, repeat. That's it.
Most of the enemies are deaf, blind. AI should have been improved
