short, sweet, and very charming clicker/idle game! i played more actively so it was more on the clicker side for me, but it was engaging and fun the whole way through. i really enjoyed getting to play a clicker game that respects my time and has nice achievements.

the gameplay is essentially the underground minigame from pokemon diamond/pearl but centered around that entirely, and it was done very well IMO. the animations are clean and it always feels satisfying to unearth an artifact. the progression feels very satisfying as well!

I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with this remake as someone who loved the original. The changes they make here make sense and tie the narrative together very well. Silent Hill 2 is a perfect example of art in video game form.

I'm so tense while playing, but when I'm not playing, I keep thinking of jumping back into this game just to see what happens next, to take James on his next psychological roller coaster. I really, really, really love this game and the devs nailed it. GOTY for me

this game isn't very original and the inspiration it wears on its sleeve is not so endearing, but the game itself is very very solid, the gameplay loops are fun, the creatures are great and exploring is a blast, which is why it's still so good to play today. i'm someone pickier about open worlds and i have a lot of fun with palworld's. i also like how it tends to address dark topics which takes me back to like, very early pokemon descriptions

the game's regularly updated and a lot of the problems i had on launch have been fixed.

you don't have to love the people behind this game-- i don't-- but what palworld stands for is the freedom of indie games and all in a similar genre. don't let bigger corporations bully them. please support this game if any of it appeals to you

really charming and fun, if i had anything to compare it to it'd be the fangame Pokerogue. this game really scratched my itch when i wanted to play a creature collector type game but didn't want to play anything slow. Evolings is simple, fun, strategic, and punishing, and i had a hard time putting it down once i started playing

there's definitely different strategy than other games of the genre you might be used to, such as being able to see what the enemy's moves will be so you can plan every step without error. i find it pretty engaging, but the downside is that the enemy AI is pretty predictable and sometimes that can put your game into a stalemate. this won't last forever because the game eventually sends out a black mist that incrementally damages everyone, but there's been a few times where i wish i had a fast forward button because my only option is to keep doing the same move and wait for the mist to roll in. luckily, this hasn't been common to me and the game is fast paced otherwise

i bought this game a long time ago and only now started to play it, and i really wish i played it when i got it since i've had so much fun with it

I'm always wary of farming/town life games because I think they often take the wrong lessons from Stardew Valley and focus on a cutesy, bubbly farm life where everything is perfect. There's nothing wrong with wholesome cozy games, but they fall flat to me because more often than not, their characters aren't well developed. It's hard to make compelling and interesting characters without giving them something negative to work with, something Stardew Valley has done from the beginning that I struggle to find in farming games that come out after it.

I'm happy to say that Fields of Mistria is an exception. I see both classic Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley inspiration and tons of QOL from preceding farming games. Fields of Mistria is oozing in consistent style and charm, the gameplay loop is very fun and addicting, the progression is satisfying, and the game itself feels very polished-- honestly, it's probably the most "whole" Early Access game I've ever played. More important than anything else to me, the characters are interesting and engaging and they're allowed to have strengths and flaws.

I officially fell in love with this game when I went to the inn on my first Friday. I love that we get to see the townsfolk interact with each other, their relationships, who likes and hates each other, and how those stories progress. The town feels very alive and you, as the newcomer, feel very much a part of it. I'm so eager for more updates and additions to the already huge amount of dialogue we have. It's clear to me that a lot of time and love went into these characters and I really enjoy all of them.

I know there are a lot of Stardew Valley comparisons when talking about this game, but Fields of Mistria does a great job of standing out on its own and I am ecstatic to see its progress.

I think if you really enjoy Dragon Ball Z and want to explore the world in canon, you should absolutely pick this up. Telling the Z story is a little tiring if you've been through it in other games or have recently watched the anime, but it is pretty fun and I found myself engaged most of the time. Exploring is fun and what the sidequests lack in variety they make up for in charming and cute dialogue.

A pleasant surprise when playing through is that there is a lot more homage and love to the original Dragon Ball than you would expect and one of the collectibles in the game are snippets from the og anime. Lore-wise, the game kind of cleans up some inconsistencies to line up with Dragon Ball Super, but it also keeps some weird stuff (at the end of Buu Saga, they keep the part where Dende is a tiny kid for some reason lol-- he's back to normal in post-game)

The gameplay itself isn't groundbreaking, but DBZ Kakarot begins to scratch an RPG itch that other Dragon Ball games haven't really done. I'd love to see a similar DB game to this but with a different story or setting.

the pleasant antithesis of Phasmophobia, not only is it modding-friendly and fun with friends, but future updates add a lot more fun and there is a lot of care put into making the game replayable and making me poo my pants
