Campaign is fantastic. Favorite since MW/MW2, and maybe better than both. The writing is surprisingly excellent, with good characters, realistic dialogue, and an engaging story. They clearly made everyone watch Band of Brothers 10 times then directed them to ape it as closely as possible, and they did a great job. You'll often get those war story vibes where you feel the heaviness and warped tragedy of it all.

The combat is great too. They don't lean hard at all into the endless waves thing, and the couple times they do, it's appropriate and fits the setting. The enemy have just the number of brain cells you want for a game like this (5 or 6). Sniping is fun as hell with the bullet time component added on to "press shift to focus." I encountered no bugs. The production value is ludicrous; the cutscenes go deep into the uncanny valley. There are several outstanding set pieces, and the level design occasionally impresses.

What really blew me away [for a COD game] though was the writing and overall direction. It's just a really well-realized piece of work in all respects. In short, it's as if they made Band of Brothers a video game and somehow succeeded.

this game rocks. voice acting, music, character models, everything is awesome, and horror gameplay hasn't really evolved all that much since this. play it, it's a joy

never played this back in the day and still loving it. takes maybe 2 minutes tops to pick up the controls
