At that price for 3-4 hours of content, worth it for any fans of the game.

A solid 2d metroidvania, one of the best in recent memory.

This game is great. I've played most metroidvania's out there and this one can hang with the best of them IMO. The difficulty is a bit on the hard side so expect a challenge with boss fights and other various sequences. Some of the puzzles/platforming can be quite intense and requires quick thinking/button pressing, but nothing unreasonable. The humour is great too. Highly recommend it.

Loved it, but would have liked to see more permanent "skills" beyond just the weapon/tool upgrades.

A little bit of Ori with a dash of Salt and Sanctuary and you have Hollow Knight. The game definitely sets the mood with great music, art and lighting, I'm about 4 hours in and loving it all so far. My only complaint is the controls are not as responsive as I'd like and sometimes I die as a result (e.g. jumping doesn't respond in time, I fall into a pit).

A great surprise, awesome game. Just spent the entire weekend playing it from start to finish. Metroid/Castlevania style game, if you enjoyed those games you'll love this one.
