This game is a masterpiece. Even though it might not appear tobe much on the outside, after all, it is a Half-Life 2 mod, it is surprisingly fun, and never really gets boring. You have a wide array of guns at your disposal, along with unique melee weapons, from kitchen knives to chainsaws. There are two gamemodes, objective and survival.
Objective has you and a group of other survivors get from Point A to Point B, while completing objectives along the way to get rescue. Survival has you and other survivors defending zones from waves of zombies, with scripted supply drops.

One of the best aspects of this game is it's focus on teamwork. While objective is possible to solo, it is still hard, and survival is practically impossible without a team. Where it really becomes noticable is in certain objectivd missions, though.
For examples, Cabin has you hooking a car battery up to a generator to call for rexcue, except the generator is surrounded by zombies, requiring one of the survivors to grab the battery, and the others protect him.

Another aspect is that this game is actually quite difficult. Ammunition tends to be scarce, requring you to only take shots that you really need to take, instead of just mowing down hordes with a run-n-gun strategy. Every time a zombie bits you, you have a chance of bleeding or infection. Bleeding does damage to you over time, and can only be stopped by bandages, while infection is permanent, and can only be put off for three minutes by taking pills.

One of the best loadouts is the SKS, Beretta M9, and Baseball Bat.

Play this game, it is absolutly fantastic.

I highly enjoy this game, and if you don't play it, you really should. It features:
+Fast paced action
+Unique weapons
+Good community (In my experience)
+Character customization (to a degree)
+MvM, the game's PvE mode
-Trade servers
-Pay2Win servers
-MvM elitists.
