Long review:
Omori delves into something which is usually not portrayed correctly or avoided altogether: mental illness. People who struggle with mental illnesses might show it outwardly but often times they try to mask it in fear that other people won't accept it or at best, will just try to give a light pat in the back in hope everything will be okay afterwards and if not, then you are just too much and not grateful enough for life. Our brain can be the one playing mind games and tricking us at the same time, it cannot go away by "being grateful enough" because there isn't even space for that thought. I like how the makers did not attempt to brush off problems with just 1-2 cheesy anecdotes and *voila* everything is solved. Omocat perfectly captured this essence and I hope it will raise awareness towards how to show support to those who are suffering. SPOILER WARNING Some people mistook this game as about overcoming grief but it's actually about overcoming guilt. Since guilt eats away from inside you like a parasite and does not let you forgive yourself. We can be our harshest critics sometimes. I have read that some people stopped playing after realizing that the main character committed the act himself because they feel disgusted having to "help" this character. What they didn't realize is that he was a child, sibling tantrums are normal but the most unfortunate outcome happened. Yet he did not go unpunished as he deprived himself of social interactions, has worsening mental health and is considering to take his own life. The message Omori is trying to give is that people make mistakes, sometimes one more grave than the other, and yet life has to continue anyway. It does not mean that everything can be forgiven or forgotten easily and yet there won't be an end if the first step is not taken.

This is a game that everyone should at least play once in their lifetime, truly is an amazing masterpiece. I enjoyed every second of it eventhough trying to get all achievements have been (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻. But you will get to see a lot of easter eggs and tidbits, which I found to be worth it.

When I first got it, I played 8 hours nonstop. Since we can always restart, we don't feel too bad about the last game but getting so close to winning is what made me and my friends keep on going for the next game. Not to mention that there will always be dumb moments between party members which makes me laugh. It's a good game and well worth the money.
