Great game but I play it the opposite of speedrun. My heart is too fragile to contain all the feelings and emotions I got from this game :(

Still can’t recover for “losing” Gwen :(

look, i dont believe in ghost or any forms of supernatural beings but, maaaaan, this game scared tf out of me. i literally ran from my computer to my room, still holding my mouse, during the last scene of the prologue 😭

still felt scared afterwards until i realized i still wear my headphones.

with that being said, yes, the sound design is superb in this game. every creaking and weird sounds make me feel tense and unsafe.

bc im chicken, i will try to finish the game BUT with my little pony theme song played in the background.

So… my therapist suggested I try something new to...... mix things up, so I decided to play some games again and my first pick was Frostpunk. Initially, I figured it'd be similar to the city-building games I'm used to, maybe with a bit of twist. But wow, was I in for a surprise. From the get-go, even on easy mode, Frostpunk challenged me in ways I hadn't anticipated. Between deciding on laws, making difficult decisions, and managing scarce resources, the game was relentless. Yet, strangely enough, it served as a welcome distraction from my real-life problems, lol.

And the music—simply incredible. Piotr Musial really outdid himself. The track “The City Must Survive,” aka the boss music, perfectly captures the sense of urgency and desperation as the storm approaches. It makes you feel the weight of your decisions, and if you're not prepared, you end up feeling utterly helpless. That was me during my first playthrough: a complete mess, short on resources, perched on the edge of my seat, desperately hoping my city would survive (spoiler: it didn't). But as I learned about the mechanic, I think I am better now.

I fell in love with the game to the extent that I bought the Game of The Year edition on both G0G and Steam. Oh, how I wish I could experience playing it for the first time again.

If you're looking for a game that's more than just about building and managing, and you're ready to face a challenge that might stress you out (in the best way possible), Frostpunk is the game for you. Trust me, the stress is worth it!
