I can't stop playing because ConcernedApe just can't stop adding more content to this near-perfect game.

A faithful D&D adaptation and more than worth successor to Baldur's Gate 2. Larian Studios showed up the industry, pulling out all the stops for branching storylines, world and character interactions, voice acting and just care for the smallest details. Baldur's Gate 3 sets the bar for CRPGs to come, and is unlikely to see any close competitor for some time.

A definite recommend if the media, other reviews and the internet as a whole have not already convinced you; though it is not a game that will be universally liked. Mechanics are still definitely complicated and not always easily explained, and using the D&D system and world, many concepts and references might be convoluted and not hit with the same impact for a more casual gamer.

The 2 years+ of early access have fine tuned Act 1 and most of Act 2 to be incredibly high polish, however the polish does not quite extend through to the endgame. The final act, while grand in scope doesn't hit as hard and character storylines are not all fully fleshed out. Larian is going to continue to work on the game a la their predecessor Divinity: Original Sin 2's Definitive Edition, which polished the game completely and developed a proper epilogue.

Despite all that, its still the best 50 hours you'll likely get for any RPG this year, with depth in re-runs easily bringing you to 100+ hours. There's so much love and care in the game, you'll likely discover something new in every run. You won't regret it.

Fantastic improvements to the original, the new mechanics have made it much more challenging. Have had a lot of fun with friends just like the first one.

Play it on PS4/XBOX. The PC port is terrible, with audio desyncs, no 21:9 support, and worst of all, mouse-look emulates an analog stick and just feels clunky and sluggish.
