This game is so much fun. I was able to learn the mechanics of the game very quickly and easily, and I found myself super immersed in each of the runs I've played so far. I definitely see myself enjoying this game for a long while.

Garry's Mod has been a huge part of my gaming life for many years. There are quite a lot of game modes to choose from and enjoy at your own pleasure, and I'm sure there's something to enjoy for everyone, more or less. Garry's Mod is a great place to make friends as long as you can filter out any toxic players you come across. ;)

I nominated this game for the "Just 5 More Minutes Award," but I'd rather call it the "Just 30 More Minutes Award," for obvious reasons. Every time I complete a run in this game, I find myself starting a new run immediately as it is the most addicting roguelike I have ever played, and with some practice the best roguelike I have ever played. As opposed to other games like "Enter the Gungeon," this game has been a lot easier and a lot more fun than most of the roguelikes I have seen which is why I keep coming back to it. I'm definitely not the best player for this game, but it takes a lot of patience and time to overcome challenges in this game, especially for one of the hidden characters, The Lost. It took me about maybe a total of 60 hours gametime to get good at this game, and once you get good at this game, it's easy to unlock most of the achievements. This game was made even better with the addition of their first DLC, Afterbirth. It hardly added any more difficulty to the game while making it even more fun to play for beginners in my opinion. There's also new DLC that's coming hopefully before the end of 2016, and that will add even more to the game, which means another potential hundred hours plus for me to enjoy this game.

As a purchasable in a free-to-play game, you would probably think "Wow, look at all these cosmetic items that don't improve my gameplay in any sense. It's like I'm playing Team Fortress 2 again. Why should I buy this?" I completely agree; cosmetics are just glimmer and show. But why should you truly buy this addon? Unturned was created by Smartly Dressed Games, which has only created this game, Unturned. As a minor developer for a free-to-play game, there isn't a lot of financial support for this game, other than the support that the developers themselves provide for the game. If you truly support this game and wish to see more content in the future, then you should definitely buy this addon.

Unturned is well worth your time if you're into survival games. Unturned offers a small variety of maps with different levels of difficulty for gamers of any experience. A tutorial mode has also been provided recently that allows new players to easily learn how to play Unturned. There are many areas to explore in each map which contain different regional aesthetic zombies which each drop different sets of loot, such as police themed items from Police Zombies, or military themed items from Military Zombies. Unturned also offers three skill trees that you can invest your experience in, which you earn from various tasks; offense for the sake of being able to kill zombies easier; defense for the sake of being able to survive longer; and support for the sake of making the most out of every item and miscellaneous task, such as fishing or farming. Unturned also supports multiplayer, so you can enjoy either surviving with friends or murdering every player in your sight for glory. There are also quite a few achievements you can hunt for if you're the kind of person who loves achievements. And finally, crafting. Within the Support skill tree, there is a skill that gives you blueprints to craft more advanced items. You can perform tasks such as using scrap metal to repair weapons, reloading your empty magazines with ammunition boxes you can find, or creating a baseball bat that has nails in it!
P.S. Beware of the full moon. Zombies will spawn infinitely in areas where you can find them as long as the moon is up, but it also serves as a potential grind for experience and themed loot.
P.S.S. In a few areas for each map, there are possible spawn locations for Mega Zombies. Mega Zombies are incredibly powerful. In comparison to a regular zombie, it has a health rating of 2500%, deals a ton of damage, and moves about 200-300% faster then you at normal walk speed. You got balls to take one on alone, but I suggest taking these guys on in multiplayer with a trusted group of 2-4. Killing one generates around 32 experience and five military themed items. (Credit to the Unturned wiki for this information)
TL;DR of the main points:

  • Small variety of maps
  • Three levels of difficulty: Easy, Normal, Hard
  • Tutorial mode for new players is easy to follow and covers most, if not all, of the game's basics
  • Many areas to explore in each map with some areas having relevant-themed zombies
  • Themed zombies drop loot that is relevant to their theme
  • Three skill trees (Offense, Defense, Support) in which you invest your experience for the sake of survival
  • Multiplayer that you can enjoy with friends
  • Achievements, difficult or simple to achieve
  • Crafting, which isn't apparent at first, but offers a variety of utilities to improve your capabilities
  • Occasional Full Moons
  • Mega Zombies that are tougher than your mother's cooking

Although I've said a good plenty about this game and why you should play it, I also think it's fair to list the cons, no matter how small the list. As fun as Unturned is, I personally don't see it as a game that anyone would play as a top priority. As a fanatic of survival games, I don't find myself playing this game for hours on end or even forever. Even though more content is being added consistently, I always find myself not playing this game much. Also, as a warning for the impatient, if you aren't that into survival games or get angry at games easily, I would recommend playing this game at your own discretion. Especially for those of you who seek to play online. Upon dying, as in most survival games, you lose all of your loot and some of your experience and skills.

With that being said, I hope you can find that Unturned is as simple and fun as I state it to be.

Also, I still can't believe that more people have the Mastermind achievement than the Fishing achievement. I mean, come on, as of now, 0.22% of players have caught 10 fish. It's not that hard, people.

Uhhh, I don't have much to say about the game, other than some parts of the game require more skill than others. I'm kinda just writing this for the community badge, soooooo.... Team Fortress 2 is a good game. 10/10 IGN.
