There are issues with performance. It is unoptimized, and the CPU drain from NPCs can be wild. But I am almost ten hours in, and with a 3070ti and a Ryzen 7 5800x, locked to 60 on ultra+raytracing, DLSS on quality, Vysnc off and the only place that I've had stutters even while streaming through Discord is in Vernworth, typically when leaving buildings or swinging around a corner into more populated areas. Definitely needs work, and this game should have been optimized properly, there is no proper reason otherwise in this day and age, but the story and gameplay is there. Altogether a fun time.

I don't often leave reviews, but I figured I could after two playthroughs of this one. I've not 100% the game, I've not unlocked every single thing, but I beat the game when it first came out, and now I've beaten it after the Reloaded update. I think that the game, while it has its issues and bugs, is overall a very enjoyable experience, that now is slanted to be much more in tune with the spirit of the first game. The parkour feels much better and smooth. The combat with a majority of melee weapons is satisfying. The nighttimes can be genuinely challenging now, and the story still is a middle of the road save your sister, oh the bad guy is your dad trope, but I can say that the vast majority of NPC interactions were enjoyable, especially Rowe's band of PK's. I would give Dying Light 2 as it stands now a 8.5/10, definitely room to iron things out, but in reality, it is a pretty damn solid parkour zombie game, and would be worth your time on a sale if you don't have nostalgia from the first game to warrant possibly buying at full price.

It's a part time job, but not the worst one.
