Early Access Review
Keeping in mind this is a single developer passion project, and it is in early access.
I absolutely love this game. It is so much better than alot of other similar titles. I am literally always on the look out for games like this where you can form your own fleets build an empire and do what you want in a galaxy while walking inside your ship, flying what ships you like, capital ship combat etc.

There is definitely some jank but if you can look past it for what it really is then this is a fantastic experience to role play your new Space Life.

Early Access Review
Mechabellum, on the surface, might appear like just another auto-battler, a genre saturated with similar titles. However, beneath its deceptively simple exterior lies a game that is as strategically deep as chess, yet far more intense and action-packed than one would anticipate.

Strategic Depth: A Thinking Player's Game

One of the most striking aspects of Mechabellum is its strategic depth. While the core mechanics are easy to grasp, mastering them requires a keen understanding of unit synergies, positioning, and counterplay. Each decision, from unit placement to ability activation, carries significant weight, leading to a truly engaging mental exercise that will challenge even the most seasoned strategists.

Explosive Intensity: More Than Meets the Eye

Despite its strategic nature, Mechabellum doesn't shy away from explosive action. Battles are a visual spectacle, with mechs unleashing devastating attacks, explosions filling the screen, and the tide of battle constantly shifting. This intense, fast-paced action adds a layer of excitement that complements the game's strategic depth perfectly.

Deceptively Deep: A Hidden Gem

Mechabellum is a game that continuously surprises. It constantly reveals new layers of complexity, new strategies to master, and new ways to outwit opponents. Its deceptively simple appearance hides a depth that will keep players engaged for hours on end.

Better Than It Looks: A Visual Treat

While Mechabellum may not boast the most cutting-edge graphics, it is still a visually pleasing game. The mech designs are detailed and varied, the environments are well-realized, and the effects are impressive. The game's visual presentation enhances the overall experience, making it a joy to watch and play.

A Modern Chess Game: A New Classic

In essence, Mechabellum is a modern chess game, a game that requires careful planning, tactical decision-making, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. It is a game that will test your strategic skills, your reflexes, and your ability to think under pressure. If you're a fan of strategy games, particularly those with a focus on intense action and deep strategic gameplay, Mechabellum is definitely worth checking out.

Its nothing like CIV6 when you really get down to the mechanics. And to be honest I think thats the biggest reason for alot of the down votes. This is a very fun engine builder feeling 4X game with intersting mechanics all throughout the game from age to age.

This game is just straight up fun. I dont normally enjoy survival games that much but this one I enjoy. Setting up a base and getting the right mix of Pals to manage different tasks around the base, as well as composing your Pal field team and matching the right skills for the right situation. Along with a solid crafting system, loot, gear and cool weapons for you and your Pals this game is fun to play, and even though its in early access its already more feature complete and running well than alot of AAA full release titles. If they can keep up the addition of new content over time I think this game is a winner.

Overall I have to say this is an excellent FPS/RTS hybrid to play Coop or Vs with your friends. It is quite ambitious and each aspect of the game works pretty well together. Its alot of fun setting up fleets, planetary defences and recruiting an army of clones or bots to do your bidding. For the price I recommend giving this a go!
