TL;DR: Great, solid entry in the LEGO™ games legacy. Very good visuals, soundtrack, level design (mostly). Satisfying collecting and progressing. Game is much more fun as a Star Wars™ fan, or if you played this as a child, or co-op. Very innocent, witty and funny. Accessible for all ages. Great soundtrack. But can get repetitive, some levels are less well then others, camera is clunky but not horrible, and controls can be annoying in platforming. Modern LEGO™ games have improved on elements of this, even though this is one amazing experience. Fully recommend! But don't wait for a sale, since this is never on sale...

This game is amazing, and pure, pure nostalgia to me. I first played this game on the Nintendo DS as a small child, 100%ing it and spending over 300hours on it, then I got LEGO® Star Wars™ II: The Original Trilogy, containing episodes 4-6, and LEGO® Star Wars™: The Video Game, containing episodes 1-3 on PS2, completing both 100%.
As a child I was completely obsessed with LEGO® Star Wars™, the toys, I was constantly on the LEGO™ website, and on YouTube™ watching LEGO™ videos! I loved Bionicle and LEGO® Mars Mission™ too, but Star Wars™ the most. I even made a whole lot of LEGO™ stop-motion videos, and posted them on YouTube™, back in 2008. (Channel name is Cantavanda too if anyone's curious). Sadly a lot are deleted due bullying....

So many years later, my obsession has gone, and I barely am up to date about new LEGO® Star Wars™ sets, but still feel excitement thinking about Jango Fett figures haha. I was very surprised when I found that this game is here in its entirity (The Complete Saga) I was completely blown away, I bought it immediately, and the years from that moment I beat it 100% a few times. How does it hold up?

The game is, as said before, amazing. The movies get satirised in such a witty, funny and innocent way. The levels are varied, fun, with a lot of easter eggs, and so nostalgic to me. There is a very big sense of progression, which makes it satisfying to continue; you can constantly buy new characters, powers and so on. Finding the hundreds of minikits and red bricks might seem like a huge task, it is, but there is a satisfying pay off in the forms of new levels and gamemodes you can access using the gold bricks that you get, one per collectible/completion you get. There is an amazing custom character creation menu, but I do wish you could make more than two... The soundtrack of course is amazing, it's the flippin' Star Wars™ soundtrack... and even though John Williams clearly copied Holst, Stravinsky and more classical composers, it is still one of the best movie soundtracks ever created. The game looks very good for its time, and while there is no photorealism at all, not even the environments, the game gets the most important aspect right about graphics: Stylization. It is so prefectly stylized, the LEGO™ characters look good, alive, and blend in well with the environment. There is a good balance between LEGO bricks and real materials like sand or snow. Some of the best moments are the boss fights, I love the General Grievous boss fight a lot. The story in this game is almost nonexistent, it's just funny goofs in the cutscenes, but that is forgivable, since almost everyone who plays this game has seen the Star Wars movies, which have great stories. The co-op mode is fantastic, the game is 999% more fun if played with a friend. One day I wish to play this game with a girl lol! It's always fun to kill each other and steal each other's studs (coins) HAHA!

But... There are flaws. The combat is quite mindless, you just bash the attack button and insta-kill most enemies. But it is satisfying to deflect bullets with a lightsaber and hit an enemy like that. And even though there is a lot of enviromental variation in the game, some levels can look a like, like the very long Death Star levels in episode IV, which leads to my next critique, some levels in itself can be a bit long. Not all levels are clever, and some can get repetitive; When I'm 100%ing the game, I enjoy a lot of levels, but there are always levels that feel like a chore. Some of the worst parts of the game are the vehicle levels, those can be very repetitive. Some levels can also look a bit ugly, but luckly it's not so common. The biggest flaw of this game is the camera, it's not awful as some N64 or PS1 games of course, but it could be much better, and I read it is much better in modern LEGO™ games. Luckly I never noticed the camera issues as a child... except with co-op, yes, the camera is way worse in co-op. While this game is very accessible to children, and can be enjoyed by all ages, I did get stuck at times as a child, but eventually found what to do, but I do have bad memories of roaming around everywhere in a level trying to find a way to progress... The controls are a bit clunky too compared to modern LEGO™ games, while I never had an issue with it as a child, in the platforming parts, aiming your jumps can be a bit hard, I often played this game with my little brother, and he kept falling off the platforms, slowing the whole progression lol, eventually I just played some parts alone, and after those plugged the controller back in HAHA!! Also, this game is much better if you have played this as a child, or if you are a huge Star Wars™ fan such as I, so take that into account.

I have not played many other LEGO™ games, only LEGO® Batman™, which is as old as this one, and LEGO® Star Wars™ III: The Clone Wars™, which is quite new too, but I heard modern LEGO™ games are better then this one, which I cannot confirm, but I'm sure of it. This was one of the first LEGO™ games, so they can only build up from this. I heard the camera issues are completely fixed in modern LEGO™ games. Of course they'd look much better, and have much more varied levels. But of course, no setting can beat the 6 Star Wars™ episodes in my opinion, it's a universe I feel home in, since I was never into Harry Potter™, Indiana Jones™, or other franchises LEGO™ has made games about, so that's why this one will always be the best for me. Even as a child, I was never that much into The Clone Wars™, and I even found it annoying all new LEGO® Star Wars™ sets were themed like that....

My favourite parts of the whole game by far are the STAR WARS SPOILER ALERT: Anakin vs. Obi-Wan fight from episode III, Count Dooku fight from episode II, and my favourite by all is the Emperor Palpatine fight from episode VI, such a beautiful level...

One critique I have with not really the game, but the Steam release is that it's never, EVER on sale. I bought this game at full price many years ago, and have not seen any sales. I am writing this review at the time of the holiday sale 2017, and every LEGO™ game is on sale, even old ones like LEGO® Batman™, but not this one... It's 19,99€, which isn't TOO much, but it's still a fair amount of money for such an old game, especially if better new games exist too, but again, not TOO much.

So, after reading this, does this seem like a fun game? I recommend this game a lot! Have you played this game as a child? I command you to buy this now! Since this game is so much better with nostalgic glasses haha!

I would give this game a score of 83/100.

Oh yes, it's NSFW, but I totally recommend Star Wars : Attack of the Dentist, Star War 2 : Phantom Crentist by YouTuber videogamedunkey, some hillarious voiceovers of this games' cutscenes lol.

This game sucks.
Yes yes, it's an april fools joke, I understand, I have some humour. But ten euros for this disaster is just overpriced and it's one of the top selling games already for a week just because youtubers play it.
So, there are multiple factors that make this game an abomination.

The bugs, this game is one of the buggiest games I've ever seen, when you start to play it it is so funny HAHA THAT GOAT DOES FUNNY HAHA, but after a half hour all the jokes in this game become very repetitive and plain annoying. You can't walk without tripping over anything and then you have to wait until your goat stands up again, and three seconds later he's on the ground again. Also, when you're trying to do something it happens sometimes that you fly all over to the other side of the map because of a random programmed bug. And other situations are that you're trying to get on a roof for a trophy for the achievements, but you keep falling through the roof and then you have to climb up all your way back. And don't get me started on the bug that some 3d models like cars or trampolines don't appear until you're close to them.

The controls, the controls are so annoying, your goat goes most of the time for no reason in "muscles off" mode, and sometimes it takes time to undo that, guess why, because the controls aren't responding. The game is set for a QWERTY keyboard, mine is AZERTY, in almost all games you can edit the controls, and in all of those they stay saved, but of course, in this one, the controls don't save, you have to redo the controls all the time again and again and it gets annoying quick, and because that you get stuck a lot, you have to reset the game again and again and that obviously correlates with resetting the controls. There are also some control bugs, like when you start a new game the controls are not responding, etc.... And the worst thing is the acceleration of your goat. Since you fall so much, you have to accelerate again, and it goes from very slow to fast that you can't control your goat, and when you stop your goat while running he might fall over.

The achievements, most are very easy to get, it's fun getting a lot of achievements quick and seeing funny things, but then there are the unfair ones. And I mean unfair, not challenging. For example, the achievements of Payday 2 are insanely hard, but fair, the achievements of Angry Video Game Nerd adventures are hard, it's a hard platformer, but still, fair. But the achievements are this just piss you off so much. Let's take the all trophies one, some trophies are very easy to get, but others are on impossible locations with such big bugs that they're impossible to get that it takes you so many tries. Like the one under the fan, there is a spinning fan on a hard to reach location, and behind that fan theres a trophy, and the fan spins fast, and if you touch it you get rocketed to the other side of the map, that means you have to walk so much and fall over a lot again, reach that hard to reach location, and then try again. And since the controls are so annoying it's almost impossible to go over the fan, it took me so long and it was so annoying, but that's only one of the multiple hard to reach and unfair trophies. The jump on the five trampolines in one jump trophy is so annoying too because you can't see the trampolines until you are close to them because of bugs. So you have to search all the map for trampolines and perfectly remember their placement and then jump the very buggy jump controls which takes ages. And then there's the worst... the horrible... flappy goat achievement.... It's like flappy bird, but on a very small screen, full of bugs and much faster. So you go in a building and there's a tv there and on it flappy goat. The screen of that tv is small so you have to look very good, and it goes fast and you flap high. Also, the worst about it is the horrible collision, your goat touches the pipes even when it's not touching it, you really have to be far away from the pipes to not touch them, this took me a hour of pure frustration to do.

Well, that's about it, this game is overrated, a disaster, overpriced and annoying. 1/10 just because it made me laugh in the first half hour

This game is so awesome and fun!
You can do everything you want, from fun multiplayer minigames like Prop Hunt or Trouble in Terrorist Town to horror maps, to wars with guns that have graphics like Battlefield. You can build stuff, create houses, do fun games with NPC's and let your imagination flow! There are so many workshop addons, ranging from anime NPC's to weapon packs. There is everything you can imagine in Garry's Mod. There are maps with an intense war like Combine Onslaught and the dozens of millions of zombie survival maps, but also family friendly things like downloadable cars and racing maps (although the racing controls are really stiff). There is even a huge NPC that is the final boss of Doom 3, it's so much fun to spawn some cute anime girls NPC's, make them invincible, give them weapons and fight against that monster while it's spawning other monsterse at you, that boss even got a boss theme, and in the right map it's just intense. There are even Skyrim dragons as boss! It's just so much you can do in this game, you never get bored of it. But something that I don't like is that the achievements are IMPOSSIBLE, I stalk Garry (the creator) every day to see if he's playing the game, to join him and get that darn achievement. Anyways, this game is awesome and really fun.
9.5/10

This game... one of the best ones I've ever played. When I first bought it I didn't expect a lot from it. I saw it in a sale I think and I saw it got a good score, 91/100, so why not buy it? I played it a hour and found it boring so stopped. But some time later I played it again, got addicted to it and wow, it was amazing. This game has such a great atmosphere, old 1930-1950 music, a nuclear destroyed land with mutated beasts, lots of loneliness and some little cities. A great story, lots of good sidemissions, but for God's sake, don't play the "Mothership Zeta" DLC, it's boring. So, this game is a masterpiece, in the beginning it is boring but quickly it gets very very addicting and fantastic. The only downside is that it bugs a lot on windows 7/8, it freezes randomly each 30mins-3hours so you will have to save a lot and restart your computer, that's kinda what ruins it. So in final, I give this game a 9/10

This game is so good. It's a masterpiece. The graphics are not very good (they were good for its time), but that doesn't matter. This game is so well executed, so dark, so thrilling, words can't describe it. This was my first game on steam together with the orange box and garry's mod, but this was the only one I could play because my compueter was old and coulnd't support good graphics. This game is also very nostalgic to me because before I had steam, I had a free crack of this game and played it, I was 8 so it was very scary to me. So, this game is a masterpiece, 10/10

This game is a masterpiece. It is one of the most addicting games I have every played. A full completion takes over a hundred hours, and after it, you can just start again as a new race and the game is completely different. There is so much freedom in this game, you can stop a quest at any time and do another one. This is one of the best games I have ever played, yes, you are overpowered in combat when you're a certain level and there is not much challenge, but that doesn't change that this game is a masterpiece. 10/10

This game is awesome. It has very good gameplay, skills, it keeps interesting, and it is very addicting. There are just 12 missions but they are all awesome, and even after completing them so many times they are still so thrilling. They always go diffirent.

Update: The game gets updated a lot, each few months a new DLC gets released, and oh my, so many achievements get added, when I just bought this, it had around 30 achievement, now almost 140. More new weapons, missions and enemies get added. It's awesome!
This is one of my favorite games, 9/10.
