I've beaten this game a couple of times on the GameCube, and after all these years, I haven't found a game that's struck me as much as this one has. I know more about ToS than any other game (any other fictional world, for that matter!), yet I'm still excited downloading it for the first time on my new computer :) Strong characters and lore with admittedly convoluted mechanics, BUT I didn't pay any attention to tech and strategy details when I first played it as a kid and still fell in love with it. I think it can easily be enjoyed on the whole spectrum from casually enjoying the rich story to maximizing battle strength/efficiency, so there's a little something for everyone, if you know where to look :)

Stunning visuals! I think I took over 20 screenshots by the time I finished the game. The puzzles are not particularly difficult once you get the hang of the physics, especially if you are familiar with puzzle games. However, the creators obviously put effort into making each stage unique and fresh, so with the short length of the game, it never got boring. The cutscenes dragged a bit sometimes, but the story they created was sweet and simple.

The center of this game is obviously the art, though the gameplay and story are enjoyable too. With an equally mesmorizing soundtrack, Gravity Ghost is very relaxing to play through, though a few moments of rage should be expected ;)

I can't even begin to describe how GORGEOUS this game is! It's like you're literally inside a watercolor masterpiece world! I would put this on the same level as Okami for aesthetic value :) Yes, the rhyming does feel forced (because it is) especially during the dialogue, but that just adds to the quirky-ness of the Lemurian world.

I found the battle system interesting. It took me a while to get used to because I'd never played a game with this timer-turn-based strategy system (though I'm sure it's not the first of its kind). But once I got the hang of how it worked, I was surprised, and elated, by how thoughtful your moves need to be, particularly in boss battles, to be successful and effective. However, you could certainly get through this game by simply throwing your most powerful moves at the monsters, you just won't be nearly as efficient. Some may consider that a downside to the game, but I think it is an upside: you can progress through and enjoy the story whether you want to play strategically or not, allowing more skill levels to be able to enjoy the game.

There is also a significant amount of exploring you can do to find bonuses, which I simply loved. This game exceeded my expectations in every way, and I would highly recommend it to anyone! As of this review (about 16 hours of gameplay), I have completed the main plot and all of the side quests (that I have found anyway), but I still have a bit more exploration to do to find the remaining hidden items in all the areas.

I did experience a few glitches, such as Aurora's hair disappearing during battles and visual stutters near the end of the game, but nothing that effected gameplay.

Gorgeous game! I loved the soundtrack, the aesthetics, and the whole concept! Each puzzle is very unique and some are pretty difficult, so the game never got repretitive and stayed interesting. Admittedly, the controls are a little clunky during some puzzles, but it isn't so bad that any puzzle is impossible to complete. You may just have to die or fall a few times before you can get it just right. The game only runs about 4 or 5 hours from start to finish, plus a little more if you have to replay a few chapters to complete all of the achievements. For the relatively short game length, the story is actually very well developed; however, the focus is obviously the puzzles and not story-rich content, so don't expect anything too in-depth.

All in all, I was very impressed!

If you just want a very interesting free platformer to play for an hour or two with no care to actually finish the game, then I say definitely give this a try. It is at least worth that much! Or if you want a very challenging free platformer and are willing to spend a LOT of time mastering the exact timing and coordination for some of the levels, then I also recommend this game to you.

I really do love the concept of this game! Sometimes the mechanics are very tedious, making levels that should be very simple take multiple, enraging tries! Though, perhaps, the execution of the game isn't perfect, there was certainly a lot of creativity that went to making it!! Even if the graphics are extremely simple, I really like the aethetic of the overall look, and the music choice is a beautiful accompaniment :) Ultimately, though, the game is poorly designed. Eventually you come to a level that is just too difficult for the clumsy controls to be able to complete. The poetic blurbs at the beginning of the game really drew me in, and I was hoping this would focus on the poetry with light platforming to move through the poem. But now I will never know how the story ends because nothing about the game was endearing enough to make me want to spend hours to complete a single level.
