There's so much to like about this game, but I find I have to convince myself to come back and continue. If you are a souls veteran the legacy dungeons have exactly what you are looking for, but while the open world is beautiful and full of cool stuff to find, it never hits the highs of Breath of the Wild's "whoa, what is THAT?" moments.

If the intricate and layered level design of previous souls games was intimidating or exhausting, but the combat was your style, this might be the perfect game for you.

EDIT: There have been huge changes since my review was initially written. I still don't feel it is exactly up to Sony First Part Standards TM but this is now an excellent way to play an excellent game. Just don't come in expecting this to be a perfect port, even at this point (10/2023).

Its The Last of Us, no way to sum it up better than a must-play title for everyone.

BUT wow this port is awful. Extremely high VRAM requirements while medium/low texture settings look terrible. Lots of crashes to the extent where its nearly unplayable. Don't bother until this is fixed.

If you liked Mirror's Edge you'll enjoy this. But if you felt Mirror's Edge was more about finding the best route that looked or felt as smooth as possible then you'll love this.

This is one of those rare games that you really shouldn't miss. Let me explain.

I like RPG's but the combat has bored me in many of the turn based games lately. If that's the case, hell, even if you don't like RPG's at all, Undertale is incredible. The combat, or lackthereof if thats what you choose, is fun and quick backed by INCREDIBLE music. Did I say the music was incredible? It is. I regret not getting the bundle with the soundtrack.

Visually, it's quite pretty but nothing absolutely mindblowing in my opinion. It has a solid art style and flavor all its own that really permeates everything, from the quirky characters and dialog, to the random details and easter eggs like the ability to stack hotdogs on your head. Obviously HEAVILY inspired by the Mother trilogy, especially considering Toby made a Halloween hack of Earthbound.

I thought this would be just another good indie game I could pass by and not regret missing. That is simply not the case with this. This has become arguably my favorite RPG, despite hardly being one. Everyone owes it to themselves to see the end of this story.

This is an absolute must play for everone.
