Although not very similar to the first game, there is still plenty of fun to be had. If you endure the first wave of skepticism, you will find out that even though much different than the first game, it is just as stressful and therefore rewarding.

Yet, I must warn about some issues regarding GUI, as at this point the transfer screen between settlements, law screen, frostland exploration screen all need improvements. No more satisfying crunch when a law is available.

I tried to love this game but it is just bad. The game feels really incomplete with old dlc being obsolete. Aside from total conversion mods, you cannot have fun playing this game. It is just so limited and you are never able to do what you want even if that is a very small thing. Ai is completely braindead to the point where they harm you more than your enemies. Most older focus trees have you wait for 70 days to get 1 civ and 3 building slots and it just feels pointless to play something other than majors yet most of the majors also have very outdated focus trees.
The path Paradox took with this game is just stupid, rather than fixing focus trees of countries that actually have impact you have rushed and unsatisfactory trees like Iceland, Switzerland and Ethiopia.
The only fun non-major countries in this game are Poland and Finland but even then the game will find a way to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you (communist poland gets justified on by soviets even if you give them the east, finland needs to garrison a demilitrized island to get an achievement but they usually cannot garrison it before the soviets invade it etc.)
Don't even get me started with supply and navy.

I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game for Christmas in 2022 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, picked my character and world and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.

Starts out rough but increases in enjoyment the more you play/rank up. The final boss(es) always keep you on your toes no matter how strong of a deck and kit you may have. A very fun deck building game with interesting equipments, pets and cards.
