There are a handful of games that set themselves apart from the rest, as not just a means for entertainment, but also as art. Outer Wilds falls into that category. Where most games will choose one feature to focus on and perfect, here Mobius went above and beyond in all aspects: the premise, world building, music, art, game-play, and everything in between. When you play this game, you can just feel the passion its team had when making it; that everyone tried their best to make it as good as it could possibly be.

I loved this game, and while I wouldn't go so far as to call it "life changing" like some of the other reviewers have, the experience it brings you on is no less than awe inspiring and I couldn't recommend it more.

This is one of the only games I've ever committed to getting all the achievements, so after having experienced everything it has to offer I can say that it's worth buying. I loved playing this game. That said, there are a few things that really drag it down.

The biggest one for me was the inconsistent writing. I will say that I do think they managed to write a good plot. Though it wasn't anything revolutionary, it definitely had its moments and I did enjoy it overall. However, there were multiple times where they undermine story's credibility for no absolutely reason. Without any spoilers, one example of this is SM's Spidey-Sense selectively not working, either to allow a side-character to save him, or to showcase a new antagonist. Often times it came off as an attempt to promote a strong female character, however it achieved the opposite effect due to it seeming forced. Strangely enough, there was one female character who was absolutely amazing, so they clearly know how to do it. Which makes it even more baffling that the female lead was so bland and needed blatant plot armor to be even slightly useful.
Another example of the story really dropping in quality is also due to the aforementioned female lead. She plays a large part in the story, and out of all the scenes she appears in there are maybe two or three in which she isn't whining about something or other. The incessant complaining really starts to get annoying and there is no way to make it stop since you HAVE to listen to the phone calls.
It's a real shame that there were so many great characters here, but one of the most important ones was just so insufferable.

When it comes to the combat mechanics, they knocked it out of the park. They did an incredible job of making Spiderman feel powerful. His many different abilities you can use in combination with each other allow for many different play-styles and strategies. The web-swinging aspect also felt spectacular. Traversing the map never got boring, to the point where I never even used the fast travel.
The thing is, they put so much effort into Spidey himself that I think they lost focus on the rest of the game. Regarding the enemies, there are essentially only five variations with different costumes on depending on who the main antagonist is at that point in the story. The combat ended up feeling a bit boring by the end of it, just because of how repetitive the enemies were. I also am of the opinion that aside from the street thugs, there shouldn't be any enemies walking around without weapons, since it just doesn't make sense, and even they should at least have pocket knives. All in all I think they could have done a better job. I will say however that this doesn't extend to the boss fights, all of which were unique and challenging.
The open world is in a similar situation. It appears great initially, with great visuals and many collectibles and side-quests, but as you play you realize how empty it is. Once you have completed all the side-quests and secondary objectives, there is literally nothing to do in this game aside from stopping the same three or four crimes over and over. On top of that, most of these secondary objectives aren't even fun to begin with. Most of them consist of collecting the same object x amount of times, and don't even get me started on the Screwball missions. To say they are infuriating is an understatement, and one of the later ones is literally impossible to do properly if you purchased a certain upgrade, which you definitely will have done by then as it's near the end of the last DLC. I think they could have put in more of an effort to make the world feel alive.

Overall this is a great game, however I think it's slightly too expensive for the price, since the most you're going to get out of it is around 50 hours of gameplay, and that's if you complete all the side missions too. Despite its flaws I did really enjoy this game though, and I definitely recommend it.

This game is a masterpiece. A true hidden gem. A diamond in the rough, hidden within the trash heap that is the Steam store.

Now I know what you're thinking: "This game couldn't possibly be good", and I don't blame you. The graphics are very simplistic, the game-play is lackluster, and hell, it might even be a little racist.

HOWEVER, you are wrong. Behind all of that is a riveting adventure full of mystery, secrets, and plot twists that are impossible to see coming. You'll come across all sorts of characters: a mother and her child, an elderly couple sitting on a bench, two kids playing together, and much more! They've even got a turtle, and if that's not enough to convince you, I don't know what will.

Venture into this mystical island shrouded in uncertainty and uncover the secrets that lie within. All of your questions shall be answered: "Does pineapple belong on pizza?", "Why did my wife leave me for her yoga instructor?", and any other query your little head can muster. Even the meaning of life itself is waiting to be found.

Finally, and here's the real kicker folks: this game is 100% hands down, unquestionably, without a shadow of a doubt, in no uncertain terms, as sure as eggs is eggs, FREE!!! So download this game now to experience this life changing masterpiece first-hand.

I picked up the first game as a gag a while ago, and as someone who hadn't drawn or painted anything in years, I actually enjoyed it.

With this sequel, the developers have added everything the original lacked. More color palettes, more tools, a town to explore, more NPCs, and a more engaging story (although it's still by far the weakest part of the game).

I will say that the price is a bit high given how short the story is, so if you don't like it enough to come back purely for the gameplay, it would probably not be worth the money.

What I'd recommend is to play the original (only 4 euros currently), and come back to this one if you like it.

This game is like a mix between Pokemon and Dragon Quest. The combat is essentially DQ but with a rock-paper-scissors-like twist where each monster has a preferred attack pattern that you have to figure out. You can also collect monsters like in Pokemon but again, there is a twist. Every monster has genes that will be better or worse depending on the weight and smell of the egg it hatched from. This makes getting a good monster much more rewarding as you have to spend a decent amount of time farming genes for it.

Another thing I loved in this game are the Royal Monsters. These are monsters from later stages in the game that spawn in an earlier area than usual. They present a huge challenge (they are stronger than most bosses) but defeating them can be very rewarding as you will have a chance of getting one of that monster's eggs earlier than you usually would.

The combat and collection aspects of this game are done very well, which is good since those are the most important parts. However, there were a few things I did not like. The movement throughout the world can feel clunky, although I do like that you can only access certain areas with specific monsters.
The game basically holds your hand the whole time, and the regions all feel quite small. This, on top of the fact that areas are blocked until you advance in the story, really take away the freedom that exploration games are supposed to give you. I feel like an open world and some more polish would have made this game significantly better. It's honestly strange that they DIDN'T make it an open world, given how well it would fit the theme of MHS.

Overall I really like this game and am still far from having finished it 36 hours in.

If you enjoy turn based strategy games, like Fire Emblem, you should like Xcom 2. The gameplay is great, with many tactical elements the player can use to get an advantage. There are also many settings the player can use to increase the difficulty, which coupled with the fact that you can easily mod it with the steam workshop, means you can get a good amount of hours out of it before getting bored.

The one complaint I have is that the visuals can be janky, but if worst comes to worst reloading the save file usually fixes it.

Overall the game was probably worth the money at full price, but it's absolutely worth what they're selling it for these days.

There is so much content in this game so it takes a long time to finish. On top of that it's very replayable so you can always come back to it.

Bit hard in the beginning, but the skill ceiling is incredibly high so you can get a lot of playtime in before you hit your maximum potential and give up.

This is a very well made game, and I've had a lot of fun playing with it so far. While it is mostly directed towards people who are interested in programming, you don't need to know how to code at all to be able to play.
Anyone interested in programming or logic games should try out this one.

Just buy it. The less you know about the game the better.
