I don't do many reviews but this game warrants one.

Even though this is early release alpha the game is quite a bit more finished than you would expect giving way to some reviews which may be more critical than they should be. I've been playing since Jan 2016 during a free weekend and have played almost daily since.
Coming from a faster pewpew game my initial thoughts were that this may be a bit slow paced for me, but the graphics and feel were great so figured I would give it a fair shake. I'm glad I did. And it's not slow.

Some things:
1. The Ship tree/Progression tree really should probably not be called that because the ships are balanced to play with and against each other. The "starter ships" are really just free well rounded ships. They are able to fit in and fight with all ships. Progressing up the tree you will find ships with different specialties. Not better. They do however, require much more knowledge of the game to fly and contribute to the team.
2. Speed. Game pacing is actually just about right. FS is not a twitch game, but I find that as you learn the game and pay more attention to your team, strategy, timer, enemy team you are always moving. Always doing something and almost always fighting over something.
3.The movement is more like space submarines than spaceships but I've gotten use to that. This was changed a while back and this was the consensus.
4. Progression. It's not really progression since each ship can hold it's own when flown properly. But you will progress in gaining skill and fighting tougher more organized opponents.
5. The community is, for the overwhelming part, quite helpful and welcoming

Seeing the progression of the game since I started I'm encouraged to keep playing. More maps and more ships coming and beta stage looming FS is in a good spot.

Fast paced carnage! What's not to like?
