This game is great for action and puzzle solving. I played this couch co-op and the gameplay is enjoyable

I would highly recommend this game for those that like survival games with rogue-like elements. Your first couple of play throughs will most likely result in a quick death as you learn the ropes and explore what to avoid in the early stages of the game. Death is permanent unless you have a certain item or activate a touchstone where you are revived. You can build a base camp and build food sources and defences/traps to help you not starve and fend off occasional monsters that come after you.

There is a weather system and different biomes. One notable attribute you have is sanity and when this gets low, your character has negative effects which I thought was quite unique.

There are a number of characters that you can unlock and they all have different abilities that alter how you play the game. There is a story mode where you try and go through each portal of the map onto the next level until you reach the end and survial mode is basically surviving for as long as you can.

The game has a number of good mods that can enhance gameplay such as displaying health numbers as well as other community made ones for new characters and items.

The art style of the game is quite nice. It really adds to the atmosphere of the game.

The developers are still working on the multiplayer 'Don't Starve Together' and will be included for free for people who already own the base game so props to them for adding value to the game even though they could have left it as it is and dedicated their time and effort on other projects.
